Who actually owned Romford and how much did Tamplin pay. Also, is there a list of the 15 players signed.

This is just a scenario on a never ending loop

Businessman takes over shitty little club. No fans to oppose a takeover so he takes over. He promises the earth

Shitty little club starts to spend vast sums on money on players who 'cant wait to be part of this exciting project' and it starts smashing teams all over the place

Ground begins to take place, albeit on a small scale and all looks fairly temporary although smart

Shitty little club attracts glory hunting fans who jump on board and proceed to look down their noses at anyone who questions their loyalty or why the players are suddenly playing 2 levels below where they should be.

More players are bought, shitty little club then goes full time in a bid to reach 'the football league in 5 years'

Once the national league is reached (and South/North) other clubs fail to be impressed and shitty little club loses far too many games.

Owner starts making noises about things being 'not sustainable' and the budget decreases. Results are mixed and 'fans' vanish

Money goes, fans go, and shitty little club reverts to what it always was.

You've nailed it.
At least one club a year gets an owner with more money than sense until a couple of years down the line the sense overtakes the money.
It gives fans a joyride but a hell of a come down afterwards.
I honestly don't know if it's a good or a bad thing. Without a big spending owner it tends to be year after year of gruel watching poxy teams you're bigger than hammer you twice a season but when its your club splurging the cash you deep down know it's going to end in tears and fret that there won't be a club left to support at the end of it.

Good luck to Romford, they may have less to lose than other vanity project clubs and maybe won't land with such a hard bang when it's over.

I suppose Cunto finance didn't turn out to be the never ending joy you were promised

No, neither did Alan effing Hardy.
You look at the crowd, do the maths add a bit on for corporate and TV then look at your massive squad and 50+ player turnover, compensation payouts to managers and the like and just giggle hysterically at the madness.

Some of them names sound like footy manager youth regens.

Most of them are very young tbf. Actually pleased to see Tamplin go down the youth route rather than signing older players looking for a payday.

Bantick is an attacking midfielder who's done the rounds at Isthmian level - Heybridge and Tonbridge amongst others. Moncur too.

Eyong is the biggest name I recognise in terms of pedigree - he was part of the big spending era at both Billericay and Margate, as well as Canvey island when they were in the Isthmian Premier.

None of the others instantly rings a bell with me.

What’s gonna happen to the funfair writing and pikey doodles of himself he put on the wall at Billericay? How long before they’re painted over?

Bedsheets currently being whipped off mattresses in Romford and felt tips being pulled out from pencil cases.

Glenn Tamplin, the gift that keeps on giving. Whenever I think of my struggling L1 team without a pot to piss in, I remember how worse off we could be.

I like how Tamplin's tweet refers to Morgan as an ex-Premier League striker. He's never made an appearance in the Premier League.

There must be hundreds of ex Premier League players in non-league going by that basis.

Ha ha yes. I mean Joe Quigley is an ex Premier League striker on the same basis.

I see Romford lost again...

How long until Tamplin resigns and re-appoints himself as manager a day later?
