Yep! Look out for the qualifying challenge when it's posted.

Only 18 places?! A lot of people are going to be disappointed Get the feeling that we'll lose a few big names right off of the bat.

But at least this should mean that the standard of those who do get through is going to be really high. This is gonna be very hotly contested, I reckon.

There was a time way back on TFF where you would be very lucky to get 18 good contestants for a game. However, the way forum games have been more recently, and based on who has signed up for this I've got no doubts that there are more than 18 people worthy of being on the tribes. It's more a case of I've got the game planned out with 18 contestants.

I thought of having a bunch of double eliminations at the start, but that could leave a huge difference in the number on each tribe after only a couple of challenges. And a tribe having to vote 4 people off after only say 2 challenges isn't really going to be much less harsh.

Also, Survivor isn't really a game suited to having teams. Well there are tribes, so I mean that more in the sense that it doesn't really work having one 'character' being represented by more than one forum member if you get what I mean.

Will be harsh on those who don't make it through the qualifier, but looking at it another way - someone could make it through and then get voted off after only 1 or 2 tribe challenges. Nature of the game really.

There are three ways to make it into one of the tribes. At 6.30 pm tomorrow I will be posting a China themed crossword puzzle. The first seven people to PM me all the answers for this will be going to China.

5 minutes after I post the crossword I will start posting China themed quiz questions in the thread. This is an alternative way to make it to China. First seven people get 3 correct will make it through to the tribes.

Starting from 6.35 pm tomorrow, I will be posting the first 10 questions in this quiz. After a 10 minute break I will post questions 11-20.

Questions 21-30 will be posted at 6.30 pm on Wednesday 27th April. After a 10 minute break the last session of questions will happen until we have our 7 quiz qualifiers.

So you can try to make it to the next stage by attempting both the crossword and the quiz, or you can strategically prioritize one as you see fit. You only need to do well enough at one of them though to make it through.

You can use google and you can also share answers with others. Survivor is supposed to be a social game amongst other things – maybe if you help someone out with the crossword they will be less likely to vote you out later in the game.

Also, the 1st hidden immunity idol clue is up for grabs in this challenge. The first three people to complete the crossword will receive it, and the first three people to get 3 correct in the quiz will too.

So if you qualify via crossword method without winning a clue, feel free to take part in the quiz part of this challenge whilst hidden immunity idol clues are still up for grabs (and vice versa)

Likewise, Lee - although you have qualified automatically as a former Champ, feel free to join in with the crossword, quiz or challenge below for the purposes of winning the 1st clue.

If you are new to Survivor - the hidden immunity idol, if found, grants you immunity from being voted off at any tribal council of your choosing (except the last one).

The order in which people qualify for the final 18 will not affect who ends up on each tribe, there will be no seedings - tribes will be selected completely at random.

This is the third alternative way to qualify. It involves a written entry that you need to PM to me by 6 pm on Wednesday 29th April.

Here is the task:

In no more than 500 words describe your survival plan for living in the wilderness of China - more specifically the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park where this game will be set. You will need to construct your shelter, get food from the natural environment etc. You start with only basic tools, pots and a small amount of rice.

The top three entries based on the verdicts of an independent panel of judges (that doesn't include me) will win a spot on one of the tribes. The judges will not be told which entry belongs to which contestant (Thanks to Rammy for this concept!).

If someone who qualifies via the crossword or quiz gets in the judges' top 3 for this, the spot will pass to the next best entry based on the judges’ verdicts. The top scoring entry with the judges that belongs to someone who didn’t already win one in the crossword or quiz wins an idol clue.

The judges will be looking for:

- Good survival advice.
- An entertaining read.
- The more effort it seems you have made with your entry, the better.

Remember, to make it to the tribes you only need to do well enough on one of the three parts of this qualifying challenge. Feel free to try your hand at the crossword, quiz and written part though!
