I've probably missed this somewhere but if Bury do survive in their original guise, where are they going to play next season?

The original club won’t survive especially for next season no matter what some Bury fans think. Even if it did it would be in a similar position to where AFC Bury are going to be.

Am I right in thinking the original club had its golden share removed (which effectively gives all clubs their league space)?

"It has been reported that as many as 43 of 51 companies that Mr Dale has been linked with have been liquidated. Companies House records confirm this in part, indicating that at least 30 companies of which Mr Dale was a director ended up in liquidation. However, that is not a Disqualifying Condition under the OAD Test either. "

So essentially, anybody can own a football club, regardless of... anything by the look of it. Fuck me.

Steve Dale is an "asset stripper" by profession, if that's the right word for it.

He buys companies in distress for next to nothing, therefor allowing the former directors to walk away scott free. He then gets rid of staff, sells off whatever he can and closes the company down, while normally making a profit out of the whole evil scenario. Hence why he has so may company closures against his name

He appears to have a set formula for doing this, with "normal" businesses, however he had never dealt with a football club before and quickly became caught up with something that was far bigger, and more complex, than he had ever dealt with before....hope the pariah gets screwed for millions

In the opinion of a lot of Bury fans he was hand picked to ensure the accounts (the real ones) are buried so deep a forensic investigation is impossible
Hope he gets C19 with his ‘health issues “ that should rid us of the parasite for good
Otherwise up the AFC

Application accepted,Northwest counties North div 1,unless dale plays ball and sells

Sources within the FA now say that Phoenix application which was 'provisionally' accepted for NWCL will now be rejected on the basis that BFC are still members of the FA and have made an application to the National League set up with a view to be in a league for next season. This means that Phoenix will likely end up in Manchester League Div 1.

tough on the Phoenix club - but if Bury were accepted it would balance the National League numbers after we (hopefully) go up.
p.s I hope they don't get accepted - they should start as low as other clubs had to.

As per FA rules Bury FC would be expected to start much higher up the chain as they are a continuation of the same club, not a phoenix with links to or a complete new club which I suspect the FA will now class Bury AFC as.

Ok - you can have a place in the NL (somewhere) if we can have your spot in L1...

The current version of Bury FC would surely be rejected from entry due to financial irregularities.

Salisbury, Hereford, Gateshead, Boston were all demoted or kicked out of the NL for similar issues, let alone accepted as new members.

the NL includes NLN and NLS - they could go to NLN

The NPL or NWCL would be letting themselves in for some major headaches if they accepted a Steve Dale owned club.

I cannot see it happening.

For a start the application is not in Steve Dales name. He has stated in the Sun and the Express recently that he will step away if necessary. Hopefully he, for once, is true to his word. One thing is for sure, a continuation of Bury FC is certainly preferable to having a new club.

Bury FC are intending to play at Gigg.

A lot needs to happen before then though. Still just a dream until we see something that isnt from Dale's lying mouth.

He is one of the biggest serial bullshitters I have seen in the years I've been following football. I lost count the number of times he said he'd sold the club, for example. Amazed there is anyone left who believes anything he says.

Everything I've heard suggests that Bury FC as a legal entity is unsaveable, the debt structures put in place over several years make it toxic to any credible new owners. I get the sentimental ties to it, but the old Bury FC is a lame duck.

Are Bury fans split on the old club v new?

Which one will most back? If Dale goes and the old club survives, surely that renders the phoenix pointless? Or will they crack on?

What if the old club survives under Dale? Would people still go watch the phoenix instead?

Sounds like it is messy to the least. Apologies if a daft question..

A good 95%+ of Bury fans want Bury back. Then its about 50/50 of fans not going to give Dale another penny and the other side will do anything including giving money to Dale.
Personally I wont be giving money to either side until im comfortable that the situation with Bury fc is confirmed. I wont be giving any money while Dale is anywhere near the club, obviously if someone is stupid enough to give what Dale wants then i'm not bitter enough to rather us go bust than him getting his payday.
However if the worst happens and Bury is liquidated then I will give AFC a go as what they are doing does look good so far.
