So it's the time of the year when teams are going to lose their status as Premier league clubs and as a result may well have their squads picked apart by those that remain.
So who would you want from the sides that you think/hope will go down?
With Ings going anyway is there a Burnley player that you think would improve your squad? Are you desperately hoping that Aston Villa capitulate so you can get Benteke for a better price? Do you want to see Leicester go down so you can turn Vardys head? Would you want your club to go in for Sissokho or Krul if the geordies manage to make it 11 straight losses and ply their trade in the Championship next season?

Think you have missed the most importsnt one out there mate. There will be a large queue of clubs wanting to go in for Charlie Austin at QPR.

Bench warmer for the top 6, but he should be a starter for a decent mid-table team.

Interesting to note that no Sunderland player has been mentioned yet.

I expect this to continue as they're all crap.

Wouldn't mind seeing Benteke, Krul or Charlie Austin down here. Think they'd all do well for us.

If Drogba isn't playing again next season I could kinda see Chelsea signing Austin when QPR go down?

Wouldn't be surprised if Howe went looking at one or two Burnley players given the connections between the two clubs. I imagine Bournemouth lad Ings is out of our league, but his mate and fellow local lad Sam Vokes is more achievable. I know we wanted Vokes in January. Putting 2 and 2 together, I'd make Vokes our most likely summer purchase.

Which means Howe will go out and buy some unknown teenager from Scandinavia or Switzerland whom I've never heard of.

I'd take Benteke but I don't think Aston Villa will go down. Injuries would be a bit of a concern anyway. That's about it.

I seriously don't think anyone will pay what we'll want for him. If Lukaku goes for £28million, Benteke is worth at least £35-40million... And I don't think we'll settle for less, especially considering we're not going anywhere.

From Burnley and QPR, not a lot in there that I'd want at United. But theres some good players in there for the midtable clubs. Ings is an obvious one, Austin too. Leroy Fer and Robert Green could do a lot for a team with a block of cash.

Lukaku may have went for that but he isn't worth that. You'd get about 25 I think.

Thing is, the buying club have to match our value. On the market value which will be compared to that of other players of a similar kind of stature, such as Lukaku, we wouldn't accept £25million. If someone wants Benteke, they're going to have to stump up some serious cash imo.

But you ain't getting relegated, so who gives a fuck? Next...

Charlie Austin - like Bent'notforsale'eke has a 1 in 2 ratio in the league. What's he worth?

Fair point, but the vultures will still be circling, thus the discussion on him.

What happens if he goes on strike? Can you afford to ignore £25-£30m rotting in the reserves?

With Hull looking in a very precarious position, which of their players are likely to attract interest?

Huddlestone, Dawson, Davies, Elmohamady, Jelavic, N'Doye, Robinson... Bruce really shouldn't be getting relegated.

Then that'd just ruin his reputation and most likely any chance he had of going to another club. I reckon Sherwood would let him rot in the reserves, don't see him as a man to allow that to happen. I may be proved wrong, but at that point I'll hold my hands up and admit as much.

That's just being naive.

True. Most clubs aren't in a financial position to let an asset depreciate because they want to teach lessons.

It would if we stood our ground and left him to it. If we sold anyway, then fair enough.

We're pretty fucked if we let Ings and Vokes go. I realise that if a Prem team comes in for him, we'll struggle to keep him, so if you could turn your attention elsewhere we'd really appreciate it.

Ings is 100% gone - probably to Liverpool although I'm not sure that's the best move for him. He's been fantastic for us, and is a very good player with great potential, but is he good enough to lead a Champions League strike force? Maybe in the future, but right now I'm not entirely convinced. I know Liverpool aren't going to be in next season's Champions League, but it's where they're aspiring to be. Looking ahead long-term, I think a better move would be to a mid-table team, maybe someone like West Brom where he'd have a better chance of regular football.

Kieran Tripper is another who will most likely be leaving. He'd be a good addition for any team in the bottom half of the league - certainly too good for the Championship. Beyond that, I think the rest of our squad will remain pretty much intact.

off topic but i reckon Villa would snap the hand off the buyer for £25m for Benteke. You'll get far less in a years time when he only has a year left on his contract if he doesn't sign another one.

Austin & Phillips would be the ones I'd want from QPR. Fer will probably be sold on as well. Can see a top team going for Green as a back up keeper. I also think someone will take a chance on Caulker again

Trippier is a decent right-back, could see an offer or two for him.

Would be the best bit of business we do all year if we manage to get rid of him. Been shocking for us.
