i have decided to house all of my trading musings here rather than clog up the general betting thread.

As some of you know I do 7 on, 7 off at work so I only get chance to trade every other week. I will be updating pretty every day on my week off.

This week has been really slow. There was a few morning games that I wanted to get involved with but the lack of liquidity made me decide against it.

Today, however, the Madrid game is an 11am kick off so I will be getting involved.

Laying Madrid for £20 at 1.24. This means if they win I will lose £4.80, if the game is a draw or Getafe win then I win £19. I will then be backing some Correct Scores in Madrids favour; 0-2, 0-3, 1-3 and Any Other Home for a total of £23. Hoping for an early Real goal which would allow me to lay off 0-3 and AOH and green up for around £4-£5 profit after the £4.80 deduction from the Match Odds lay.

Hopefully the new forum will bring me some luck!

Didn't go exactly to plan. Got to half time and the price on 0-2 had come in so I layed it to reduce my red on the main danger score which was 0-1. Real were battering them and I was confident goals would come. As so as it was 0-1 I layed some of my 0-2 and 0-3 to reduce red again. I then 'greened up' on the Correct Score market for about £8 leaving me with an okay profit (when taking away the £4.80 loss from the MatchOdds lay of Real). Good start!

Just did a quick one in the Belarus U21 v Finland U21 game. Layed 1-0, backed over 2.5 thinking more goals would come (stats in the game said they would, they didn't). Ended up laying 2-0 and then had to lay over 1.5 goals to cover the red on the Correct Score. Reduced my red on under 2.5 to around £3 and my red on the Correct Score market to £2 and just let it run as there were about 3 shots in the entire 2nd half. Neither side looked like scoring again. Ended up with 70p profit (the lay on over 1.5 returned £5.70).

Thought I'd posted in here yesterday, apparently not.

Haven't done too much this week as I've been a bit busy. I did the same trade on both of the AFCON games the other night. I expected low scoring games with either side having a chance to steal it.

I backed over 3.5 goals for insurance and leverage, backed a few of the lower scorelines and backed under 1.5 goals.

Zambia v Tunisia - at 1-0 I was looking at a small loss but I was watching the game and felt Tunisia would get back into it. At 1-1 I was in a no lose situation. Ended up with £4.40 profit. Looking back on it though I could have put another few quid on that as I had £11 profit of it had gone to 2-2 or 1-3 (as I had backed over 3.5 goals).

Sorry Tom. I never saw your post.

I've not updated in a while due to being busy and exhausted with work. I've still been trading and learning! Can never stop learning.

It's not the same as risk free betting or arbing. I don't arb because I work for a bookmaker and I know how they come down heavy on arbers. Although, I would know exactly how to get around it. Still, it's too risky.

Joined a facebook group of traders. Good to chat and get tips.

Been working on my pre-match trading lately. Still not quite there though.

Couple of games I'm looking at today so I will post in a bit about what I'm going to do.

This stuff fascinates me. Also working in the industry there are a few at this but really don't understand it enough to take the risks so anywhere I can get myself on a numpties guide to trading on the exchanges would be great

There are some good beginner articles on the betfair website actually.

Just a quick Google will bring up loads of links.

Who do you work for?
