Has it ended today with Natalie Bennett's LBC interview?

Had a bit of a read of the transcript and it was admittedly quite excruciating, couldn't bring myself to actually listen to it. She's really not party leadership material is she? Shame, because I think Lucas is/was very competent.

Not convinced it's going to put that much of a dent in their support though.

Just listened to it. Fucking hell. Really struggled to listen to the end. Unless you're an absolute Green Party loyalist you'd struggle to justify voting for them after that performance. This isn't a junior spokesperson. It's the party leader.

Feel a bit sorry for her. She'll probably go to bed with a sick feeling in her stomach tonight. And she's got weeks left of this campaign. Horrible.

It's awful, she panic-coughed. Ferrari almost sounded like he pitied her.

I think if you're Green leaning, you vote for them because they are the only people who represent that particular bit of the political spectrum. I don't think a Green voter will pay any attention to this.

I don't think it's as simple as that though. People like to pigeon-hole when it comes to a party's support. But in reality all parties of a significant size draw their support from a range of sources. The Greens have the eco-warrior vote tied-down, but they have also been trying to make inroads into the left-leaning factions of the Labour Party and the Lib Dems.

Any Labour or Lib Dem waverer listening to that will completely abandon the idea of moving towards the Greens. I think this will hurt them quite badly.

I dunno, I'd kinda class myself as a waverer. I haven't voted Green at a General Election before, have been strongly considering doing so this time around, and can't say that this incident has put me off. I wouldn't be voting for them in the hope that they form the next government. I'd be voting for them because they espouse values and ideals that I consider important, in the hope that it might serve as a reminder to the Labour and Liberal Democrat parties that those are values that they too used to uphold. I'm only speaking personally of course but I don't think I'm alone in seeing them as the only viable option on the left. A shockingly poor interview, but her main crime was not being savvy enough to deflect awkward questions. If you're unused to the glare of the media spotlight then perhaps that's forgivable.

I'm in exactly the same position as PP, and he's given a much better explanation than I could. The reasons for me considering voting Green are still there and this interview hasn't really changed that.

I have not heard the interview but its bizarre how people vote on a party based on how good a leader looks in the media than whether they'd do a good job.

been like that through History and is probably why we've had afew god awful leaders over time. it'll always be the way, but it does show how as such simple minded we all are.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
It's certainly why we've got the chumps we currently have at the top. It's far more about PR than Policy.

And I agree with the above as to how it might effect the greens. Many who would vote for them won't really be bothered about it because they know she's never going to have to sit across a table from other world leaders.

If I do vote, it will probably be Green, as much as a protest as anything, because there's no way I'm voting for the main three or UKIP

TBF this isn't a case of the leader not being quite slick enough or looking a bit funny. She leads a national political party but doesn't know what the fuck she's talking about. It's rank incompetence.

Lot of erections today at Lib Dem HQ.
I think the Greens are aiming to take LD votes, but TBH, the seats in which the LDs are going to hang on are going to be all about the personality of the incumbent MP or the fact they're in a straight fight with the Tories (in the Southwest, for example). Any seats with a broadly left-leaning electorate might as well be given up on now.

Anyone seen the polling in Sheffield Hallam? Obviously the party will throw everything at it in order to avoid embarrassment, but Clegg must be in danger, surely?
