In what should prove to be a hotly-contested affair, two teams who had a league between them last season face each other - Leyton Orient and Barnet.

I expect us to line up as follows:

----------------- Stack ---------------------

Hoyte - N'Gala - Dembele - Johnson

Yiadom - Weston - Togwell - Vilhete

----------- Akinde -- Gash*---------------

Subs: New GK, Nelson, Muggleton, Champion, Gambin, Tomlinson, Batt.

*Dependent on Kev's fitness, as he came off with a slight hamstring tweak. Could be fit.

Not sure how Orient have fared in pre-season, but we have looked decent and the game will not be as easy as some Orient fans have been suggesting on their forum.

It will be interesting to see how Hendo lines his Orient team up, given his very, very short spell here.

Predicted result - Orient 1-1 Barnet.

Let the battle of the ex-West Ham personnel commence - Mad Dog vs Hendo.

Think I'm probably working next week, so will miss it.

Imagine us to line up:

McCallum - Simpson
Cox
Moore - Pritchard
James
Shaw - Essam - Baudry - Clohessey
Cisak

Possibly Dunne or McAnuff in there somewhere.

Fancy a 2-0 win here.

We may not win but I'd be surprised if we didn't score. Expecting a 2-1 defeat

Hendon has raised alot of fans hopes and expectations for the coming season, we were embarrassing last season. We had a £4million wage budget, but a combination of many things sent us down - Although it was mainly down to our owner and his poor decision making, but the worst decision he made was the manager he hired in Fabio Liverani - He spoke very little English and the players didn't really like him or form a bond with him.

We've played some good football in pre-season and scoring lots of goals. The team looks FAR FAR happier at the moment than they did a few months ago.

I'll be happy as long as we stay up. We have mainly a young a team and I'll just be happy not to go down again.

Lisbie will get a standing ovation and to be fair, Batt will as well, he did a decent job for us overall even if his fitness was suspect and could be awful one minute but effective the next.

Watch out for Lisbie's hamstrings and fitness, he is still very good on his day but he is prone to an injury. He missed the whole of August-December for us last season and it was a huge blow.

Cisak
Clohessy Baudry Dunne Shaw
McAnuff James Moore
Cox
McCallum Simpson
For me that is our strongest lineup.

First time Barnet have been here in the league since a 0-0 in March 2006. Their last win was 1-0 back in March 1997 when Linvoy Primus scored the only goal.

That 1-0 wasn't our last league win at Orient, it's our only league win at Orient

Thought so Terminator.

Suppose seeing a thread title of ''Plane crash karma for the Bin Ladens'' spoke for itself.
Full of wind ups and it gets far far too political between the right and left. Alot of cyber bullying goes on there as well.

One of two very decent and sensible people on there as well to be fair, but the amount of people I know who don't use it anymore is staggering.

The only decent football chat on there is usually after a game, other than that it really is a horrible board. I only use it from time to time, but rarely.

Will definitely be steering clear if I want an objective Orient view.

Yeah, I'd stick here for that too,

I'm going for 7-0 to Orient against our little non league friends. Super Kev to score an og before his left knee snaps in half.

But how many times will Batt fall over his legs/ dribble the ball out of play/ score an own goal with a mishit shot?

Batt will make a searing run down the right wing, fail to stop due to his Forrest Gump-esque intellect, disappear at full speed down Leyton High Road and be found manning the decks in Sugar Hut about four hours later.

Lisbie is favourite to take ownership of the Kabba room keys and Batts injury history suggests he may have competition for the fabled treatment room. Seems odd that we replaced one crocked aging striker for an even older crocked striker and also his permanently injured best mate based on his recommendation.

Doubt you'll see much of either of them on Saturday. Batt might make the bench, but I reckon Lisbie will not be risked after Saturdays injury

Really not sure on how we'll approach this one.

Last year we tended to go with one up top when going away to tricky fixtures, so if that continues on into this season it might well be Akinde on his own with a central midfield of Togwell, Weston and Champion.

We've also got issues with Stack hardly featuring through pre-season and a revolving door of trialist goalkeepers.

Is this a perk of being a Football League club, having our own match thread?

It's all very exciting for me. Shortest trip to a football match for me as well, only a 10 minute bike ride!
Has Hendon moved on tactically since his time here with us? He invariably played 4-4-2 with two out and out wingers, which led to us being over-run in midfield as the season progressed and with Paul Furlong giving away countless fouls in the centre circle as he battled in vain to win a header.

He has mixed it up a bit in preseason and we've played a good passing game mixed with a bit of long ball.

All looks promising, but friendlies mean nothing, he is clearly a capable coach, but can he picked the right starting XI?

But,he appears to have at least got our players smiling again which is something.

He was given a decent spine when he came here, he's been given the chance to bring in his own players & backroom staff. It may take time, but he has been given a good base to start from.

We wait and see how pants it goes.....

Don't really know what to expect from this game. I have it on good authority the plan from Mad Dog this season is to be difficult to beat.

With Akinde up front and the likes of Lisbie, Tomlinson, Gash, Batt, Vilhete and Yiadom around him we should still cause teams some problems.

Orient seem to have a mixture of proven quality and one or two possible weak links. I don't think there will be much between the two sides but you've got to say Orient are favourites. 1-1 my prediction.

Our fans are going to have to be patient with us IMO, new team and management/backroom staff with alot more younger players.

Barnet I think will end up in midtable, Allen is a good manager and has an ok starting XI for this level.

Relieved that Lisbie won't play as he would've scored, although Batt probably will anyway as the supersub that he is.

We will lose. We usually do shit on the opening day, last time we won at home on the opening day was August 2008.

Will be missing this for sure. Taking in Gillingham v Sheffield United instead. Shame as Barnet was the game I was most looking out for. Hopefully we can get three points!

Didn't take our chances in the first half and made to pay for it in the second. Congrats Orient.

Really can't begin to fathom why we persist on playing Muggleton! The guy isn't even Ryman league standard. Wasn't a coincidence that when he came on we conceded. Orient were poor for the whole game, we were just far worse in the second half.

First half was good, second half was awful for us. Conversely Orient pieced together more moves in the second half and the quality of Cox, Pritchard and McCullum counted. Still not convinced by Hendon as a manager though.
