I've said it before and I will say it again: not everyone is equipped with the faculties required to administer a successful forum game/list/activity.

The list of those who have failed stretches away into the distance like a winding country road viewed from a modest rise, disappearing over the horizon and into oblivion. The road is called Loser Lane, and it is lined with graves, graves carved with names such as: Craig, Libertadores FC, PaulHaddock, and (I dare say) Pagnell.

I don't blame these people for falling short, just as I wouldn't blame a humble English field stoat for being found wanting if asked to perform Franz Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody #2 at Carnegie Hall. But I won't lie either: there is an implication of hubris in their decision to attempt it, and that rankles. That they looked at the triumph of (for example) the #FWC and considered themself capable of emulating it. It's an ignoble thing to admit, perhaps, but I would be a falsifier if I said that a note of discordant schadenfreude did not chime somewhere in the recesses of my heart when I see that another pretender has fallen flat on his now harrowed face.
