Just seen that Maguire lost again in the first round. Is he the sport's biggest underachiever? Was tipped for big things but it just hasn't happened.

Wow. 3rd day and a 3rd comeback on the cards.

First Maflin 8-4 down loses 10-9. Then Maguire 8-4 behind loses 10-9 now Matt Selt 7-2 down to Hawkins has pulled it back now to just 9-8

Hawkins will be really feeling the pressure too he was 5 up with 6 to play at the UK and lost!

Opps...even in victory he looks daft then at the Crucible.

Some pretty one sided games now after a few close affairs.

Williams v Stevens should be tight though.

Both are at least 10 years past their best. Shame, as they were both top quality players in their prime.

In offs, easy misses, some strange shot choices, a weird rub of the balls (oo er), some good safety play and two players who couldn't pot a thing. Great stuff.

Judd looks to be taking a 7-2 lead in to the second session. I'm flagging though so I'm off to bed.

Judd looking good and seems to be in an aggressive frame of mind, going for everything. Makes for exciting frames but he'll come unstuck against a better opponent.

Judd always goes for everything, one of the reasons why he has never won this. Cannot win this title without an element of cautious matchplay snooker at times where the frames are scrappy.

Carrington has won that session 3-1 and now trails 8-5.
Played some really good stuff in it as well, shame it has come too late but at least it doesn't look as bad a hammering now!

Yup, he needs to hang in here and get to 5-3. Danger of it running away from him so early on.

Perhaps signs of minor improvements this frame.

Still think Selby will grind it out somehow, but having 2 last gasp matches this early on doesn't bode well for him in terms of defending this.
