What a clearance that was from McGill. Top class. 11-6 now.

Selby is currently 4/1 to win this.

McGill is nerveless. 1 frame away now.

1 frame needed. What a shock this will be.

I love the fact McGill looks as happy as a teenager who has just experienced the joys of a lady for the first time. Given he's ginger, he probably doesn't know but still...

He's done it! What a performance. Looks every part a top player. Bet he's absolutely buzzing.

Nerves of steel this lad. Went full out for his shots and nailed them all under massive pressure. Selby didn't play that badly really, he was generally cleaning up too when he had the chance to.

Ding looking good to win this frame and progress. He looks much better now than he did at the start. Could be worth a couple of quid for the title.

Shaun Murphy 7-1 Joe Perry after the first session. He should win with a session to spare.

Bottom half of the draw seems one sided ATM!

Trump looks like he has it all for me. His safety from the hour or so I've seen of him this tournament is great.

I don't, I still think he's a ball basher who rides his luck so much at times.

Feel a bit for the people who have tickets for today's play - not going to see much.

Getting to the business end now, this is my prediction of how I see it panning out.* Hopefully it goes this way as there are some potentially great matches in there.

QF's
McGill v Murphy - McGill looks a real talent, but he's running into a red-hot Murphy and I expect his class to be too much.
O'Sullivan v Bingham - Bingham only ever been this far once before, I expect Ronnie to come through well enough.
Ding v Trump - A 50/50 call. But I have just edged towards Trump. Could see a very close match.
Robertson v Hawkins - Hawkins has been brilliant the past 2 years here, this will be a real battle but think Robertson will just about prevail.

SF's
Robertson v Murphy - All about Murphy this one, if top Murphy turns up he wins it. Not sure he will somehow.
Trump v O'Sullivan - Looks a great match up, but over 33 frames I expect Ronnie to get to 17 first. Could easily be facing Ding though.

Final
Ronnie v Robertson - Potential classic, Robertson is probably the only man left with the mental strength to beat Ronnie over 35 frames. Feck it, I'll back the Aussie to do it even though I don't like the guy.

* This will all end up incorrect and we know it.
