Oxford were impressive and moved the ball about well. They benefitted from the strong wind in the second half. We kept it at 1-0 by some good blocking and defending, some exceptional Chris Dunn saves, a bit of luck and Oxford's occasional unwillingness to shoot. I felt as we got to 70 minutes that we had a chance if we could get a corner or two.

Robbie Simpson, a change of formation and Oxford starting to play for the 1-0 gave us the chance to get back in the match and for the last 10 minutes it was quite like York away and Wimbledon (just after half time) away but the goals didn't come. We probably had 5 or 6 good chances from corners and free kicks with clearances off the line and last ditch blocks. Oxford were the better team but we probably should have got the point.

Roberts, Donaldson and Slew (sub) failed to impress. I'm sure we gave Shaun Derry plenty to think about and work on before we have to tackle Accrington WAT next Saturday.

Thought Cambridge were fairly decent. A big uncompromising side, who got in our faces from the off. I can see why Dickie Dosh got sacked, as this side should be higher than their current league position.

That said, I thought we were much the better side, but played a little within ourselves at times. When we moved the ball quickly, they couldn't get near us. I did think we were guilty of trying to score the perfect goal at times and should have put the game to bed before the nervous last five minutes. Thought the officials were atrocious and got several clear cut decisions wrong, including a foul on George Baldock not given, followed by a similar foul against Oxford ten seconds later being given. This was with a few minutes to go and resulted inCambridge slinging the ball in and then winning three or four corners one after the other to give us the nervous finale.

We're still waiting on two or three players to come back but things are ticking along quite nicely at the moment and the games are good to watch too. Now to close that five point gap on Plymouth.

Didn't think Oxford were particularly good but there was only one fair result yesterday and that was a home win, don't think we can have any complaints about that.

Another lacklustre performance all round, a lot for Mr Derry to get stuck into, hopefully we can offload a couple of the wasters in January.

Also had to endure one moron criticising Derry after 70 minutes, we really have some specials that follow us.
