I see Virgin Care have recently taken over community health and urgent care services in Southport in the last month. They are also suing the NHS for £82m because it didn't win a contract in Surrey in March.

They now have contracts to provide care (inc. children's services) in the North West, Teeside, Bath/Somerset, Wiltshire, Kent and others.

There is a sense of that too. The response time was fantastic, but more police officers = better intelligence, better relations with the community and a better chance of snuffing out an attack. Not to say that these types of attacks can always be picked up by intelligence (I think it is more than wishful thinking), but it would at least show that the government are doing all they can.
