After our ridiculous 4-4 draw in Cumbria, we return to the civilised south with another tough away game, this time at Kingsmeadow. Last season, we pulled off a superb away win with Kwesi Appiah returning to haunt his former club while the game at the Abbey saw a drab 0-0 draw played out including a missed penalty (or 2). Our record at Kingsmeadow was awful before last season, we handed even scored against Wimbledon there and I don't recall us ever playing Kingstonian.

Wimbledon lost their opener against Plymouth, who are tipped by many (myself included) for one of the automatic promotion spots and bounced back with an excellent comeback at Crawley to record their first win of the season and to get their season moving.

Both sides have had a few comings and goings this summer, with Cambridge's well documented. Wimbledon meanwhile picked up Tom Elliott on a free transfer, the striker joining the Dons following a successful spell at the Abbey which yielded 26 goals in 76 games, a promotion and a FA Trophy medal to boot. Although not a total fans favourite, I've got fond memories of Tom and wish him well for the future, after Tuesday obviously.

I expect Wimbledon to finish in the top half this season and therefore I would be pleased with a draw to keep our points total ticking over. If Elliott plays (I understand he was subbed at half time on Saturday), he'll no doubt have a point to prove and a strike partnership of him and Akinfenwa doesn't half get the imagination going!

I hope we will start 442 with Elliott on the bench. However I fully expect ardley to go with three up top and not learn from previous errors. 3. 1 win if 442 and a 2. 2. Draw if 343.

Another draw me thinks with this being the 3rd away game in 7days, hoping legge will be back and Taft to replace coulson, expecting wimbledons very own pain and gain(bayo and big Tom) to score and Shea will no doubt play another blinder.

Up the u's.

Ha! We never concede more than 2, in fact I can't remember the last time we did :hypo: Dream on.

Hi Wombles, how come you had a crowd of 4,800 for your recent home game. I thought your ground's capacity was about 4,400?

Nah capacity is actually 4900 or somwhere around there depending on segregation it goes up and down. It used to hold over 5000 but health and safety saw to that. Actually I think 4850 is offical capacity currently.

It may not be full, but I'd be very surprised if we give Cambridge less than the maximum allocation.

Any Womble fans recommend a good place to park for tomorrow night?

Depends on what time you arrive. Before 7pm and you should get a space in the car park, although it's a pig to get out of afterwards.

You could try Gloucester Road/Douglas Road etc on the other side of Cambridge Road (no restrictions) or Hampden Road towards Kingston (restrictions finish at 6:30, I think).

You can park on the single yellow lines after 7pm including in the bus lane. Avoid the retail parks and Archdale Place.

Signed, your friendly car park steward.

I don't think we'll fill up whatever you give us. We'll bring 500ish at a guess.

2-0 or 3-1 home if we play 4-4-2.
If Ardley persists with his 3-4-3, then I can't see beyond a Cambridge victory.

I'm expecting a far more solid all round display from us. It would appear that Ardley has been getting treatment for his unhealthy addiction for 343 and will revert to what our players are good at.

Confidence on the pitch and the terraces is high after our come back on Saturday, if we start 442 and have a right go from the start The Meadow of Kings will be rocking and, to be honest, I think we'll be very difficult to live with.

Comfortable home win...two or three to nil...

yeah right. The Wombles on this board sure are an optimistic bunch. You'll not get anything more than a point, ffs you're playing Cambridge not York or Dagenham.

Now give it a rest with the 3-0 nil predictions or I'll think you really are deluded.

Haha! We will NOT concede more than 2 in games this season.....

I'm feeling rather nervous going into this one for some reason, 2-1 Wombles with the obligatory Tommy Elliott winner.

I assume he was referring to the numpty comment made before the Carlisle game when someone claimed the same.....

Highly likely it was my numpty comment, I really didn't see that result (and shambolic defending) coming.

Going to be a good game, this, I reckon. Two decent sides who should be vying for 7th come May.

Knackered after Rotherham and Carlisle nightlife (along with Rydal Sheepdog Trials, wildlife safaris and associated sampling of local ales). Late afternoon on the M25 is not a welcoming prospect but it has to be done.

I can see Tom Elliot reminding us of why some of us rated him, especially if Wombles can get down the side of us and provide the crosses he thrives on.

Good game in prospect, whoever we put out. Win seems possible but I'd settle for another score draw at this stage. 2-2 with attendance: 4,305 (567 away).

Slew to score and Greg Taylor to finally open his account as a late sub in his last game for the U's (bit of wishful thinking there but he nearly managed it on Saturday).

This could go either way. The Wombles are strong on their home turf, but then we beat them last year with, on paper, an inferior squad. I can see a 2-1 either way, or a 1-1 draw, if Money doesn't make drastic tactical changes after those 4 goals we conceded at Carlisle. Imo, that result was a one-off and not likely to be repeated so no need to be ultra defensive or anything.

Major concern for me is the keeper position, as I don't think Money has really settled on who will be his no 1. Personally I'd go with Dunn if he's fully fit.

RefWatch; Ref for Cambridge game is Andy Woolmer, 50, a postie (for the second game in a row) from Northampton (for the second time in 4 games). Ref since 16, FL ref since 2004. Teeny tiny guy, looks like someone let the mascot ref the game, but looks strong and fit, probably from spending hours in the gym to make up for being a dwarf. Reffed Wombles three times, twice v Daggers, both wins; 2-1 at home in '12 & 1-0 away in '13. Reffed the 1-1 game v Trannies in March. Reffed Cambridge twice, beat Daggers (he hates Daggers) & lost to York. Hates the scum. Proper Cobbler. Hates them. In 35 L2 games last season he gave 107 Y & only 1 R - low.
AnagramWatch, Andy Woolmer = Ram Woodenly. My Renal Wood. Down Me Oraly.

I see Coulson's gone off after 30 mins. Don't know your players enough to have any idea what's so mad about the line-up?

Christ! This is awful listening, why oh why is Taylor & Donaldson starting?

And we all knew what Elliott would do...

No Berry & Keane for starters, that's the single worst decision (unless good reason to follow) I've seen in a long while.

Pissing all over Cambridge. My only complaint is we are only 1 up not 4 up. Also it's a game for 90 mins not 45. So we will probably get bossed second half and lose.

That was as comfortable 1st half as we're ever gonna have. Shame we didn't turn the possession into more goals.
