Lion King has greatest opening sequence to any film ever tho.

On reflection, I should have included that in the Iconic song section. I was being a bit selfish with my choices. There is no doubt, this opening sequence is iconic. In fact bugger it, I'm going to edit.

Thank fuck the Lion King didn't win, and how was Wall-e so low down on the pixar list, it's the best of the lot and a great story

I was nine years old when it came out and still have pretty vivid memories of watching The Lion King in the cinema (the same goes for a couple of other Disney films of this period - they did hit a real purple patch in the late 80s-mid 90s). I think it's got pretty much everything - a tremendous opening sequence, beautiful animation, memorable characters (Scar really is a wonderfully malevolent villain), a strong story and an iconic death scene. Probably should have voted and propelled it to number one. Bugger. Ace countdown though!

No way did Woody and his wankers finish above Simba and the royalty.

Toy Story should be like 10th and all.

I re-watched Mighty Ducks yesterday. Can't help but think Ducks wouldn't have needed a last minute winner and would have won the game more convincingly had they not waited until 2-4 down to utilise the Flying V.

IMO Bombay is a lucky coach rather than a master tactician many make him out to be.

Can't really argue with those top two, probably the best of Disney Animation and Pixar respectively.

The Lion King really does have the best sound track ever though for a movie, surely. Circle of Life is probably my favourite film opening ever, Be Prepared is a superb villian song, Hakuna Matata and Just Can't Wait to be King are both superb, it's just full of classics. And it's got a great, epic story as well. The best Disney movie in my mind, no doubt.

As for Toy Story, I'll just copy and paste what I put in my PM to Lee when I put it on my own list (top spot, for the record):
Seems a boringly obvious choice for the top spot, but I just can't look past it. A movie based on toys being alive is such a great concept, and I totally used to assume it was true as a kid so this let me see what sort of shit they actually got up to. And it's one of those movies where I loved it as a kid, but now find myself having a whole new appreciation for just how damned good it is as an adult.

So 70 point gap between 3rd and second, then a 6 point gap between 2nd and 1st, close that, nice one for running it too.

You're wrong Toy Story sucks.

Great feature Lee. Was good fun reading it until, y'know, Woody spoiling everything.

The Lion King is a Disney movie. Toy Story is a Pixar movie. Not exactly rocket science... :P1:

Note: Oaf is still wrong for having Toy Story above the Lion King in a Disney/Pixar list though.

The list is called the top 50/100 Disney Movies though. The "Best Disney movie" only came second. My head hurts...

Disney bought Pixar etc etc. I don't think it hurts to include Pixar. I did do a breakdown after the main list for anyone who wanted to see solely Disney or Pixar.

So if Disney bought Pixar that would mean Disney > Pixar which would mean that all Disney films should finish above Pixar films yes?

That means Toy fucking Story doesn't win this.:brill:
