Il go there but as i lived in Wimbledon for 5 years and have mates who support Wimbledon they won't be best pleased.

1500 is a bit optimistic for us! Would be surprised if we took over 1000, even with the new ground buzz. Though does depend on how the season goes and I know a few fans will boycott it for MK Dons reasons (and before the jokes, our low away followings aren't always down to boycotts!)

Though equally we seem to come out in force for away games if it matters. If we can take 4000+ to Bradford than that should easily be achievable if the game is of importance. Though given our season will probably be another mid-low table affair I wouldn't even plan for us to take many.

To 'boycott', means to bring about 75% of your home average to Stadium:MK. I cannot see you bringing 12,000ish tbh mate, no offence.

Anyway, cheers for the welcome, it has just about sunken in now. I have to say though, having had a look around properly at our new digs for the past week or so, I never realised how dead it really is up here. Rammy was right!

It's like we've gone out all spruced up, gotten absolutely smashed and ended up in the middle of an empty dance floor in the quietest club in town. I hope to make the best of our year stay though. The MK posters are here everybody, aren't you fucking lucky?

If you're allocation is only 9,000 than yes, I can't see it either. That'll be my excuse anyway why we couldn't take 12,000 anyway.

9000 is with the top tier open though. I can't see that being open every week, just for the bigger teams. 6000 away with just the bottom tier.

Despite the anti-MK attitude which I completely understand, it is a cracking away day! Good pubs quite close and stadium is brilliant, MK fans generally quite friendly as well. Will hopefully be making the relevtively short journey there again

I found it to be quite a shit away day to be honest, the ground is miles away from normality and the stadium is just another fucking bowl.

But each to their own.

I missed our trip there during the cup so new ground for me, I've always thought I'd find them a lot more acceptable if they dropped the 'Dons' bit and stopped pretending they are Wimbledon.

Not really any of my business though, I'll be there next year.

Agreed. I think they should drop the Dons bit too. I wrote to their Wolves-supporting owner and suggested they do just that and call themselves MK Wimbles instead. Never bothered to fucking reply.

It is what you make of it to be honest and of course the time of year, match and crowd size all impact on enjoyment. I do agree that it has the potential to be fucking awful but with a bit of planning, it also has the potential to be a very good away day IMO. It is the same with all these newer (and in some cases even older) grounds. The best example I can think of is Colchester. I have been to their new place twice and had two polar opposite days. When we won 1-5 on a fairly nice Saturday in 2011 when we were on a good run heading in to the play-offs, we had a bit of a pub crawl in the town and most people said it was one of the best away days that season. On the contrary, last season when we lost 3-1 there on a miserable Tuesday night after a rubbish performance, I and most of our fans thought it was fucking shite.

Football fans in fickleness shocker.

P.S. I am fully aware that you dislike both modern stadiums and MK Dons so I do not expect you to change your mind.

We're better off as just Milton Keynes FC, for the sake of continuity we could just change our crest to have teh same shape as the Wimbledon FC one..

Anyway, welcome to MK Dons and BBC Three Counties Radio, possibly the most benign, soporific radio station on the planet. After matches, people with names you would only ever find in rural Buckinghamshire, phone in to complain about the "horrible name calling" by the visiting fans, and then have a follow up request for a Take That song "for my Auntie Tabitha who has returned to Stony Stratford from fighting the heathen in Syria".

MK Dons are like a radicalised, nasty version of Bournemouth's ultras. The tartan rug army.

im buzzing still from the weekend! its great not to have to worry about the play offs and that we are finally in the championship! it doesnt feel real yet, im still planning a January tuesday night away trip to Oldham in my mind :ffs: Its so good to think we will be visiting the likes of Derby, Notts Forrest, Brighton, wolves, wednesday etc compared to grounds like Oldham & Yeovil! (no offence to them)

Cant wait for next season and thanks for the welcome! :10:
