What would you do if your club did a Hereford?

Would you continue watching as a neutral, pick another team or give up all together?

I think I'd pack in watching if United ceased to exist, I only watch our games and would have no interest following another side.

I don't watch that much football apart from Norwich. I enjoy fan culture and football's role in society and my wider interest in football is from this rather than the actual game itself. There are a few teams that I've developed quite a soft spot over the year but I don't know how easy it would be to become a full time supporter of one of those clubs. Most likely I'd end up going to a team like Cambridge that is not that far from Norwich and maybe I'd end up with them.

It would seem wrong to be to support any other existing club other than Reading so I would go with whatever phoenix club arose.

Though I do think the bigger your club is, the easier to move to a phoenix club would be. Even if a small proportion of the supporter base moves over it should be enough to get up to football league level, like AFC Wimbledon managed.

I'd wonder why we hadn't learnt our lesson the first time it happened....

Of course i'd follow the new club and hep build it back from the dead, in a way i'd find that quite exciting, moreso than watching the usual stuff now.

if you meant as such that 6-7 month period of no football club, i'd just have a break, have been in a break for a year now and think its quite good time to time.

Likewise, although technically, we weren't a phoenix club.

TBH, I and many other Wimbledon supporters really enjoyed our time moving up through non-league. The elation each time you get promoted is a great experience.

Would you change anything? If you had the chance now to go back in time and save Wimbledon would you do it?

I boycotted all season until we finally got wound up at court. I've been to nearly 20 games this season, The best being Birmingham 0-8 Bournemouth, along with Coventry 1-2 Worcester. I will be Following the phoenix club as we work our way back up the leagues again, which should be a great experience. I hope no club ever has to go through what we did again, however that is highly unlikely.

Mine did, just ended up loving watching them more. Same for most other Shaymen.

In all honesty, it's very much like this forum. Years of history, gone in an instant thanks to some wankers but eventually you build it back up (which you have great fun doing) and you build the numbers to a point that it's the same if not better than before. You have more involvement in it as well.

I'd follow the phoenix club, however if we're saying in theory that one wouldn't come up, you'd find me down the Bescot. Been to about as many Walsall games as Villa ones anyway.

Follow the Phoenix, naturally. I do go to 4 or 5 Norwich games a season (home and away) so may seek to up this to keep my professional football fix. That said, I was watching my side lose to semi pro sides for 9 years and that didn't stop me going.

Same answer as most here although I have no idea what I'd do if there wasn't a phoenix club to follow. I love watching football regardless of who is playing, but I would never get anywhere near the same emotion as I do watching Arsenal.

Stopped watching Cardiff City when they turned to red. Haven't been back since. There was obviously no phoenix club as the fans were happy enough to go along with it.

I watch non-league, cricket, rugby and do more running these days. Stopping watching my football club was probably the best thing I ever did.

Probably just watch whatever match took my fancy without taking much of a "supporting" interest.

Personally, no. Purely because at that time watching top flight/second level football was an uncomfortable experience - I hated Selhurst. I was going through a few home troubles at the time of the protests and the FA decision so I hadn't been to a match for a couple of years. Life got better not long after AFC Wimbledon was formed and I started going to matches with my eldest daughter.

Not that the above makes the move up north right, and I detest that lot as much as most other Wimbledon supporters.

I'd probably start supporting Blackpool. Good leadership, striking kit, top-notch stadium, good views of the town, trams, close to Fleetwood (the Athens of the North) and with global warming could conceivably become the next Southport.

I'd probably end up calling myself a Torquay supporter. Spent most of my life here anyway. If a phoenix club sprang up, I'd follow their progress in the same way I follow Solihull Moors, checking the results and the league table once a week.

I suppose I'd follow the Phoenix club but knowing Everton fans there would end up being about 3 each with different agendas. Otherwise I guess if watch as a football fan without supporting anyone

Again it would be the Phoenix club, without one though I would probably drift between St Albans City and Hemel Hempstead, that or glory supporting Arsenal or Spurs like the majority of my friends do.

I'd probably jump onboard any phoenix club, but as I'm an exile so I may end watching more Welsh Premier/football league games

Probably watch for entertainment value as I enjoy the game as a whole, would probably get to some Hayes & Yeading games as if anything I'd be financially supporting a side much closer to the grass roots.

I'd imagine there'd be an AFC Brentford of sorts though which I'd fully back over anything.

Who? lol. Never heard of them?

They play at Palmer Park stadium, which not only has an Athletics track but also has a cycle track around the pitch. The one (large) stand is a long way from the field of play. They're currently embroiled in a promotion race at the top of the Hellenic League. If they are promoted they'll be in the Southern League (Central probably). They have one of the worst badges in football.
