Just as Wolves are perfectly capable of providing teams with their first victory of the season, we are equally capable of providing the first defeat.

However, all is not well in WV1 with speculation surrounding the sudden departure of our sometime captain, player of the season and most experienced defender to Fulham, the absence of playmaker McDonald from the Bolton trip and the disappearance of initially ever-present winger Rajiv van la Parra.
The squad changes so much that it wouldn't surprise me to see mugshots of Wolves players on milk cartons soon.

After the Bolton fiasco, Jackett described the club as "naive". Not the team, not the squad but the club. To many of us who decode tea-leaves and consult tarot cards after every interview, this was significant. Jackett, like Mick McCarthy before him, rarely puts a word out of carefully ordered place. If he said "club", he absolutely meant "club". The danger signals are there. Jackett has left clubs before after believing that he has taken them as far as he can: many can see the same happening at Wolves.

However, there are others who feel that Jackett is astute at picking a team, but rather inept at managing the team during the game. He doesn't seem good at changing things around when things are deteriorating during a game.

However, for this match, I expect a strong, hard response. Wolves tend to do well in adversity these days.
But it's a frighteningly young team and squad. Any younger and we would need formula milk sponsorship at half time and any matchday photos would be referred to the CPS.

Possible line up:
Martinez
Iorfa -- Hause -- Ebanks-Landell -- Rowe
Coady -- McDonald
Henry -- Edwards -- Byrne
Afobe
Expect Ikeme, Doherty, Rowe, Price, ALF, Ojo, van la Parra

1-0 Wolves. Att: 21,662.

Edit: Except for Wolves fans, I suspect that every single person who reads this will have a look at that teamsheet and go....."I have never heard of a single one of those players. Oh! Except for Afobe."

Am finding I have increasingly less (if that's possible) to say in these previews, the more games we keep winning. Fully behind everything Hughton and the side are doing at the moment, unsurprisingly.

I know our overall record against Wolves is a bit exceptional, if not so impressive in recent years. Might plump for a draw here, which I wouldn't be disappointed with. Another goal for Hemed.

Obviously expecting Afobe to be the dangerman. Has Byrne featured in any other games for you? Looked a very threatening player for Swindon in the limited bits I've seen of him.

Afobe and ALF both capable of scoring. Tbh, the fixture at yours last season was dire for both sets of fans, so hoping for a bit more action this time round.
Byrne and Wallace look like work in progress so far, with probably neither having really stepped up into big-boys trousers.

Will you be getting tattoos done if you beat us, like that Bolton fan last weekend?

I remain quietly confident about this game (but then pride always comes before a fall).
We are a passing and crossing team, and I don't think Brighton will cope as well with that as they did with the more direct approach of Rotherham last week.
As an example, we had 21 shots on goal away at Bolton; Brighton only managed that heady number at home to Rotherham, getting only 14 shots off against Hull. We got in almost twice as many crosses as Brighton have managed in their last two games combined.

Of course, stats all mean bollocks, but I am not as despondent as some Wolves fans. Still going for 1-0 if our naive central defenders can handle Hemed. But it's a big if.

442 with Edwards in CM. 0-3 Brighton having seen that.

Watching on a stream, interesting half. Started brightly with Murphy and Hemed looking lively but Wolves have come back into it. Neither side looking great in possession or with much quality up top. Hemed's casual penalty style letting him down this time, annoying, saved us at the other end though. Kaz has been completely dominated by Iorfa on the left flank, hasn't had a sniff - as is often the case when he comes up against pace.

Pretty even game though so far. Would still take a draw now if offered.

Red card for Coddy, mate who is there said it was a crazy challenge. Anything would be good now.

Frustrating not to be able take advantage, but we were down to third and fourth choice striking options in that second half with Hemed going off and Baldock missing out to start with. So were left with a really unfamiliar attack (Manu making his debut) and it showed a little, not sharp enough. Kaz felt like a red card waiting to happen as he was getting no change out of Iorfa. We clearly lacked a finishing touch and just found it more and more difficult to find a way through as Wolves dropped progressively deeper with increasing numbers behind the ball.

Replays of the red card didn't look great from Coady's point of view, not sure it was that malicious but pretty dangerous and looks much worse on the real time angle.

Ah well, keeps the unbeaten run going and only really Boro gaining ground of the teams immediately below us.

Way to spice up one of the least interesting Championship fixtures of the season

I'll go with 0-0, and Conor Coady to get sent off. Wonder if HBK will be in attendance?

Strangley enough I predicted this ... for last week's game vs Bolton

Also it was a poor game to watch, Martinez was our obvious man of the match.

Not losing and a clean sheet feels like progress, we are dangerously close to the Rotherham end of the table though.

Positive result. Defensive progress: clean sheet against league leaders despite being down to ten men.

Disagree with bmb.....I'm becoming an even bigger fan of Daaaaaave!!!!!!!! Class.

Feel that was a point gained. But it also confirms that we are, again, not really in the same league as the top seven or eight teams.
