There aren't many pubs near the ground but they're all away-friendly. Your best bet is The Arrow which is on the nearby large housing estate/small village that is Abbey Manor. It's easy to get lost walking there but the locals are friendly. It's a big pub well suited for match days.

After two dire performances against Gills in August that really set the tone for this season, it's a totally different Yeovil side that will line up this afternoon, and hopefully on that will put in a totally different performance.

Plenty of transfer activity this week (well needed after last saturday's shambolic performance), and the return of Byron Webster from Millwall especially, has left our fans feeling relatively positive ahead of this one, and to be honest we really need a win to keep us in touch. We've tended to have our better showings against the top/form sides (but still usually come up just short) so I think this could be a close game, and I'm going to go for an optimistic 2-1 win (Webster, Moore; Dack).

Sounds like we're having a bit of a mare so far.

Another sodding penalty. Not a bad point but should be winning games you go ahead in that late.

Just seen the highlights, how on earth do you get a penalty for running in to the back of someone?

Not sure what you've been watching but that's a penalty. He doesn't 'run into the back of someone' at all, he nips in front of your defender who then brings him down.

Let's face it, if that foul had been on your striker in front of your fans you'd be screaming for it!

Although I think I'm right in saying that 100% of our penalties this season have come against Gillingham, the refs must have it in for you...

Never a penalty, the Yeovil player brought the Gillingham player down. Free kick to Gillingham.

Every time I see it it still makes me angry how that can be given as a penalty

Runs in to Hoyte's leg and brings him down, not a penalty at all.

It's not even close to being a penalty. Hoyte got fouled if anything.

Having seen the highlights , I am not surprised that JE went in to meltdown after the final whistle

Was never a penalty.
The ref even starts to wave his arms to signal no foul before he is seemingly swayed by the home crowd.
Dreadful decision but we paid the price for not coming out in the first half. If we had played the full 90 like we did in the second half it would have been a comfortable win.
On a different note, Yeovil fans, do the local authorities or whatever really want a football team in Yeovil?
Now, I have no beef at all with the club itself, I had a decent day and the Yeovil fans were a good bunch, but getting to and from the game is a nightmare.
The train station is in the middle of nowhere and there are no shuttle buses to and from the ground.
There is also only one train to London an hour and the traffic around the station make it just about impossible to get the 5.30 train. You are then stuck at Yeovil station, which has no cafe, no pub within a 15/20 minute walk and no facilities whatsoever, for over an hour.
I do appreciate that this is probably beyond the club's control but it does not make for a very 'fans friendly' day out.

It's a constant source of embarrassment and frustration that the people who run the town seem to want to do their utmost to scupper the football club. It's been a longstanding struggle to get any improvements approved by the council. We want to build on the land behind the away end but they won't let us. The traffic situation is terrible, a lot to do with how big the estate near the ground has grown in recent years. You're not the first and won't be the last to complain about the train station. There used to be one in the middle of the town until Beeching closed it in the 50s and they left the two remaining stations as they are.
