Without that 9 point deduction, we would be 27 points above you right now, with a +39 better goal difference.
Paul Hurst had a 6.7% win percentage at Ipswich, thrown to the managerial scrapheap where he still remains to be. Monk, in contrast, is doing a great job at Birmingham.
Championship...
We changed our name to Birmingham in 1905, six years before Aston was absorbed into Birmingham. There is no rationale for a club outside the city’s boundaries to dictate to a Birmingham based club over the usage and ownership of the name.
We just had our fourth straight win, now 11 matches unbeaten, 4 points off automatic...
Hope you enjoy League 1 more next season, can’t be worse than getting dry-bummed every single week in the Championship.
Still laughing out loud over this
I noticed a few on TWTD tonight clamouring for the return of George Burley, sounds like it’s getting a bit desperate over there now.
A sizeable chunk of your 63% possession came from passing it sideways in defence, but we are very effective at winning the ball back in midfield when teams attempt to pass it out from the back. Barely noticed Clarke & Washington were even playing, Sharpe & McGoldrick didn’t get a sniff either...
If we had won that 0-3 tonight it wouldn’t have flattered us. Over twice as many attempts on goal and the more clear-cut chances - Jutkiewicz’s shot off the post, Bogle’s open-goal, Gardner’s free-kick off the post, Mahoney’s chance at the end. Very frustrating to have only got a point from that.
Funky Furlong, forgot about him.
Of course I am, real Brummies naturally gravitate to Birmingham City.
Moved to Stourbridge in 2015 after three years living in Nottingham.
