I'm not sure there's as much remaining of the original league club in the current disaster as there was of the original in Trigger's famous old broom.

Different club(s), both of whom moved from South Shields before disappearing into thin air. The current club, in the final death throes, started in the Northern premier in the 1970s.

I believe that most of the U's transactions with an agent's payment were part of contract negatiations for out of contract players at the end of last season, rather than new signings.

I don't disagree that an election looks more likely by the day but the decision makers know that it would be mayhem for both parties, especially the Tories. For it to happen we'd depend on turkeys voting for ...............armageddon? It's clear why the disaster capitalists were almost swayed...
