Luton will, not sure about Lincoln. A 2500 following from them at the Ricoh will only add 60-70 to their average (unless my maths is out). Fair play to Luton. Even if our numbers have been suppressed by the number of sell-outs we've had, it's been the same for them. Even if we'd have taken...
Who is making any 'big club' claims? I merely said that 1700 in the 4th division, midway through a season in a relatively low profile fixture at a ground we've visited 4 years on the bounce (or is it 5, can't recall) is 'decent'. We're only pulling in 6000 for some home games at the minute...
Just because a few people made silly estimates doesn't make it a poor following. 1700 is decent. It's wasn't a particularly enticing fixture for many and we've played there 5 years on the bounce.
We've sold 3100 at Coventry, likely to increase to 4000 by the start of the season. An historic low for us (Sixfields aside), but given the talks of a ST boycott, it could be worse.
Although the average that year wasn't too dissimilar to last season.
As for today, before somebody else says it, it was shit. Weird actually. Probably the most disappointing following since we were relegated 5 years ago. Home crowds down too this season. All is not well at our club.
