Ive got no idea how Cambridge are so high up the table.... really are a one man team in Wes Hoolahan who couldn't last 90 minutes.
When they were well on top they were limited to long range efforts and that was it, Stags much better in the second half and could have had a few more.
Dont think the crowd helped Cambridge last night... not seen your team play for how long and it was mostly moaning from the off.. Think it helped Mansfield in the end.
Was also nice how quiet it went once we scored haha
For years, under Evans and Flitcroft, Murrays signings were always our best players... Hes got good contacts and himself and his staff put many hours into watching potential targets that fit the minimal fee to free transfer bracket.
He started off so well, managed to keep us up when we looked...
Shame we went to sleep and let a 2-0 lead slip... we still look miles better than last year and it will take some time to get going. Point away from home and unbeaten not too bad.
Well we finished 21st and conceded god knows how many goals and got through a season with a non existent midfield so it was a big improvement to limit tranmere to parking the bus.
Ive got them to go straight down... I don't see a single player in that squad that's anything close or above league two average. Nothings won on paper but they look reminiscent of the Chesterfield side that went down, and they did have one or two decent players that southend don't have!
Tranmere average and unambitious away from home but we looked a bit rusty, though the better side for most of the game.. Big improvement on what we saw last season. a point and looking improved already will take that.
Khan just summed up his Mansfield career in 90 minutes, disappears completely.
Things that derailed our season last year were...
White and bobby getting injured and our ability to play 352 went out the window.
Elsnik went and made way for grant who was useless...
Neal Bishop was running the midfield but started to run out of steam..
We only had walker for goals
The back...
It never looked like a head injury in real time during play, the ref was way beyond the lad on the floor and the ball was in the net before anyone really realised. Definitely a goal. Get from stagsnet how you feel about concussion but no one knew at the time. He even fouled Maynard and he did...
