Looking at the promotion race below Stockport and Mansfield's defeats today are more significant as I believe they are both going to finish above Stevenage and at least one of them will be top 3 at the end of the season.
After a few wins recently and the points gap I thought we might get into trouble today and also predicted some complacency kicking in. Also Grimsby away is never the easiest trip for Orient. Even though we were leading at half time all things considered I am well happy with that point.
That jinking 60 yard run and long range shot by Orient's Paul Smyth in the first half was magnificent and deserved to be a goal. He is magnificent to watch at times and also tirelessly defends well around the box. Hell of a player.
This. Said this the other week. Will get goals but our attacking play and style improved massively after he left even if at first I thought we would miss him. He won't link play like Kelman or Drinan will and won't cover as much ground. I doubt he would have had the chemistry that they enjoy...
I imagine The Wombles will make life very difficult for the o's in what is in sorts a kind of new derby. All it will take is a one sided ref for them to become the new Brentford in terms of rivalry. I imagine the new plough lane being a tough place to visit. Should be a good atmosphere. This is...
I find Danny Johnson an interesting one. Will score goals at this level and the one below. We gave him his football league breakthrough. Scored lots of goals but offers nothing else. Won't beat players with the ball or have the strength to hold the ball. Literally just arrives late and shoots...
Very few negatives for us at the moment which is a strange feeling. We are keeping clean sheets and are a fluid side with quick and technical players and are generally a good watch although today Tranmere were typically tough to play through. It's another 3 points against a side who will finish...
What's gone wrong at Scunny? At the very least I always expected Scunthorpe to turn up with a half decent side and were always competitive and horrible to play against especially at GP. For many years it seemed like you were a L2/L1 yoyo club who were always competitive especially when in L2...
Can't believe the amount of points we have dropped from not only leading positions but looking comfortable. We are unbeaten in 11 games in all competitions and have only lost twice all season yet find ourselves outside top 7. Even our last defeat was a late collapse in injury time at Vale. The...
I quite like this competition and it does have a long running history now. I think it's great for fringe players to make an impression and for players coming back from injury. If your club treats it as such I don't think it really gets in the way of the other competitions either. If you get to...
It's awful. The steep metal flooring is actually a massive hazard in the rain. It absolutely pissed down a few years back when I went. I felt like I was going to slip and I am only in my 30's. God knows what it is like for the older ladies and gents amongst us.
Hartlepool could do worse than Michael Flynn. Looking at the list this seems a very viable option who is out of work and a manager who did a great job at Newport for a long time. Not sure why he resigned but if I was a betting man.....
Getting rid of Graham Alexander was a woeful decision from people who should know better. They have been slowly floating backwards ever since. GNev even admitted on live telly that it was a massive mistake. Bowyer must be under the cosh now. It's all things you love to see though
Glad you are getting it completed. How much is the capacity of the stand? It looks very low capacity for a stand on the side of a pitch. With the space sixfields has I was surprised by the small scale of the project. Still, at least you will have 4 sides again.
I've always thought that one day DC would end up at our gaff. He has a great rapour with our supporters and is friendly with members of our boardroom due to our days in the NL and the Trophy final. Only last week in the press he was complimenting the club and it's infrastructure. Our CEO sent a...
