Most interesting for me is where Jarvis fits in our system, seems like he's played up front, as one of the 10s and at wing back in his appearances so far. Seeing as most of his career as far as I know has been as an out and out winger, it'll probably take him some time to settle.
Yeah fair, I haven't seen him there in a long time though, his best game for us I thought was Grimsby where he was really good pressing high up and he's played there since returning. But it's better than playing Austin there certainly.
Just depends if Robertson will be available at some point for me. If two of Abbott, Hinchy and Palmer are injured we look really light. But I appreciate that it's hard to find someone to come in as that break glass option
Yeah lots might be an exaggeration to be fair. Just felt a lot like Newport for me, looking back there's probably enough to win the game but felt like we played poorly.
Feels like we're having a few too many of these games where we're missing lots of chances and not winning. Could be nothing and we'll sneak some later in the season we maybe don't deserve, but with the league this close it feels like a big 2 points dropped.
He scored 5 and assisted 2 in 10 games last season too to be fair, a better return than this season based on goals per minute.
Plus that Pope season you're on about was 12 years ago wasn't it? Fees have moved on since then.
I would definitely rather we keep him and go for it this season, but his injury record before coming to Notts wasn't the best so that is an additional risk to whether the offers come in in the summer. Unless there's someone already lined up though it would be practically giving up on the season...
Feels similar for Notts, of the teams in this thread we only play Vale between now and our game at Wimbledon on 8th March (depending on the Grimsby rearrangement). If we're serious about challenging for top 3, we've got to get points on the board and returning and new players bedded in before a...
In general I am happy for the club to take a long term approach when it comes to selling players, and if the deal is good then in most cases absolutely go for it, but losing Jatta this month without bringing in at least two strikers would be a difficult decision for me to defend.
I reckon they probably feel like they need to justify it and the only way is to do that factually. Given how good he's been it'd be really interesting to know what he was asking for that we weren't going to match
He's a fantastic player and we will be weaker for him leaving (though I know that's not a universal opinion) but presumably this includes a fee for someone everyone agrees would be leaving at the end of the season. Hopefully means some funds for a striker
Yeah, but with two wingers it's a bit mad isn't it? Just playing one mental wing back seems to have been working quite well. I might be oversimplifying it.
