Fingers crossed Jatta is ok, but otherwise everything else you'd want out of a 5th game in 2 weeks. 12 points from those 5 too is a massive return given where we were before that. McGoldrick got man of the match and it's hard to argue when he got both goals, but I thought Platt was excellent today.
Beaten by the better team, punished for not taking advantage when we had control of the game first half. Hard to see anyone catching Walsall even if they lose Lowe. Would like to see both disallowed goals again but it sounds like maybe neither were offside.
Excellent fake injury from Bass, Walsall have been all over us. I didn't have a good view of whether the goal was offside (was worried someone had given a pen away at the front post) but it seemed tight
It looked about level from my angle though not the best.
On the game, we should probably focus a bit more on trying to score if we're only 1 up. Hopefully all the running around off the ball has tired Walsall out.
Yeah I think it's 12 of the last 20 or something like that. Some tough home games towards the end of the season but after today, its a good run of home games that we need to take advantage of if we're going to make a serious run at the top 3 - Swindon, Bromley, Carlisle, Morecambe, Tranmere.
Agree with all of this, Scott was obviously very successful with Williamson before so he might be able to get the best out of him. Whether that's enough to make him a productive striker at this level, I'm not sure, but I'd be delighted for him if he did.
Yeah, I expect we will look a bit lost on the ball. Cheltenham should just stick two on Crowley and we will struggle. This looked a tough game after Boxing Day and I'd be very happy with a draw after seeing that lineup. Could be 4 at the back but that seems worse with no wingers, think we will...
We've not been great, but when playing it long the wind has been a massive issue so there aren't great options. I think the major issue we have (and I don't see the solution in the squad) is in midfield, just don't have anyone with any strength in there and it's telling on a day like today...
I don't think it'll be an easy game but I'm really hopeful of a win.
Listening to the NTT20 weekend preview and based on an xG model they have seen, Notts have a better expected points over the last 6 games than anyone else in the league - including MK who have won all 6. I don't agree with...
Fair to say another hallmark of the Burchnall teams. Still, I'm not overreacting to a one goal defeat away from home against 2nd in the league with the team we had out, we need a win soon though.
It's not been a great game, but on the other hand, it has been boring. No complaint from me if we get away with a point but I don't think it would get the fans off Maynard's back.
It's a fair question, but I do think it would be a realistic assessment to look at the players we had on the pitch and say that we weren't equipped to play that sort of style as well as you would have been able to defend it. It might have been worth doing for 5 minutes just to see how it would...
