The First Ever Official ‘GOING FOR IT’ Thread

Yes we really should be going for it with a turnover of £20m, so perhaps we’ll see some big signings in the next few weeks following a total lack of activity so far. Looking at the two teams in the Championship play-off final, Luton’s turnover was £17m and Coventry’s was £18m - and a large...

    Kits for 2023/24

I’m not a fan either. That collar ruins it. However, we have sold 8,600 in the first 24 hours - and that doesn’t include pre-orders from the 7,000 season ticket renewals who had the option to buy the shirt with their ticket. So we must be in the minority! It is clever ownership you have to...

    Stickied League 2 Transfer Rumours/Confirmed Transfers 2024/25

He’d be a good signing. He played under Parkinson at Sunderland so there is a link there.

I would agree - the quality has come on in leaps and bounds in recent years. There is a gap to League 2 but I don’t think it is huge. It looks like a much smaller gap than the one between League 2 and League 1.

The First Ever Official ‘GOING FOR IT’ Thread

Ha! To be fair almost every club who’s been promoted from the National League has had to “go for it” - that’s the end result of only having one auto promo place.

Love all the bitchiness on this thread. I’m quite old so I can even remember the days of Mansfield buying promotion from the Blue Square Premier :-)

    Kits for 2023/24

Can’t agree on the Newport kit. It doesn’t matter what it looks like. Anything related to Newport is s***.

Definitely 3 up/3 down needs to happen. The National League should be absorbed into the EFL in my opinion too. Clubs in League 3 then all follow the same rules around financial fair play, no plastic pitches. Non-league then starts at the regional level with National League North and South.

    Kits for 2023/24

It will be big money. That’s the model that the owners have gone down, and you have to say that it has been successful. Publicity and using that and their personal appeal/social media to bring on board sponsors is their A game. There is a rumour (probably made up) of £5m over two years.

    Kits for 2023/24

Yes, or Fly United or something. The collar doesn’t look great. 4/10 effort. Hopefully the away and third are better.

    Kits for 2023/24

Our new home kit. United is United Airlines - but unfortunately that does make it look a bit like a knock-off Man Utd shirt…

The 1 to 24 League Two prediction comp 23/24

I really like Hughes, but then he is from here. I’d be very happy to have him as Wrexham manager and I love his passion for the game. I like that he was willing to go down the leagues to work. I think he’ll have Bradford up there this season.

    Stickied League 2 Transfer Rumours/Confirmed Transfers 2024/25

Alfie May is making his decision on where to sign within the next week. Apparently we have made him an offer but we are competing with some championship and league 1 clubs so I think that one looks fairly unlikely.

    League Two 2023/2024

It seems like it’s impossible to know what Notts County’s wage bill is as they take advantage of small company rules and don’t publish detailed accounts. In the last published accounts (21-22) they spent £227k on transfer fees, lost £1.7 million, borrowed an additional £2m from their owners, and...

    League Two 2023/2024

There’s no way that Notts County’s budget was only £20k a week/£1m for the season! Yes, Wrexham spent a load,, but so did Notts, and I’m sure that both clubs will spend again next season too.

They’ve also linked us (Wrexham) to him which I think must be nonsense.

    Season Tickets 23/24

Here’s a picture of the planned new Wrexham Kop. It’ll look impressive, and will hold 5,500 which is badly needed capacity. I’ve seen so many false dawns that I’ll only really believe it is happening when I see it, but apparently work is due to start on it on 1 June.

    Season Tickets 23/24

They’ve already said that they won’t be selling any new season tickets this season, only renewals, so sadly those who did not have one last season are out of luck.

    Welcome Wrexham

i understand the comparisons between Wrexham and Salford, but I think they are a bit lazy. The situations and the clubs and their histories are quite different. The coverage yesterday was completely over the top, I agree. But the broadcasters’ data must have shown them that it was of interest...
