We've been cranking out wins on a consistent basis but we haven't played any of the top sides in the last few weeks.
January might give us a better indication of our calibre; we play Blackpool, Mansfield and end the month away at Luton.
I still haven't seen an impressive opposition side yet -...
Wycombe have done brilliantly and Cambridge have followed on their coat tails.
We've gone from bottom after 9 games to 7th - winning 9 of 13 games in the process.
I don't think either side will have enough for a top 3 place mind.
3-0 up against Coventry at half time. Luke Berry with a 37 minute hattrick.
Coventry pop the ball about nicely at times but look so soft. Every time we put some pressure on they seem to give up possession.
Who knows? We've got two home games in a week now (Yeovil and Accy). Looks like an excellent opportunity to string some wins together and push up the table.
If we fail to beat either team I think Derry will be under severe pressure.
It probably was our best performance, which shows how utterly useless we've been this season.
We've got a core of good players but it's just not happening. Any team in this league would struggle up front having Corr, Dunk and Mcgurk injured at the same time, but we should have enough left to be...
For some reason I feel quite confident this morning. I should know better.
We really need a win to shake the team out of this malaise. I don't care how we do it but 3 points matters more than a good performance today IMO.
We were dire, the goal aside.
The attendance was lower than our average but we always have low attendances for the first few games (unless it's a particularly big match) - Summer holidays are blamed and we do seem to get bigger crowds as we go through the season. Is this the same with other clubs?
We've got nothing against Akinde as far as I know? United fans I was with agreed that we'd love to have him in our team. If you're referring to boos it must just be the one incident, where he kicked Berry and the ref only had a polite word with him.
On reflection, it wasn't a great game but...
Well, not a thrilling game to start the season!
The first half was terrible - Barnet lumping the ball to Akinde at every opportunity and togwell (?) Taking a long throw on every occasion. We weren't in the game and resorted to hopeless punts up field too.
Second half slightly better; we scored...
Me too - I'm expecting a very competitive league this year. I'm reasonably confident which teams will be top half or bottom half but the rest is pure guess work.
