Haywards Heath Town 1 Alton Town 0. Haywards Heath might be worth looking out for; they've a very good side for Step 6, led by Rob O'Toole who was the best player for Burgess Hill Town's (almost) invincibles for much of last season. That said, Alton can count themselves unlucky- they were on the...

Last Saturday I went to Whitehawk v Poole Town for the Non League Paper. It seemed a waste, when I'd written four pages of notes, not to do something else with them- so I wrote a rather longer piece...
Off to Whitehawk v Poole Town and reporting for the Non League Paper. Very much looking forward to it, two very attacking teams, home team will obviously be favourites but have a habit of playing 2-1-7 and it regularly costs them goals.
Angels, Kings and a back seat manager- not quite a match report from Tonbridge on Saturday...http://www.townsendaround.co.uk/football/angels-kings-and-a-back-seat-manager/
Bognor Regis Town v Enfield Town for me yesterday, doing a little work for Non League Live. Awful first half, about as inspiring as three day old blancmange, much better second half, but Enfield currently a shadow of last years team and look very short on confidence. A crowd of 444.
Kick off between Worthing United and East Preston in the FA Vase is at 5. It'll be by far the biggest crowd hey've ever seen, and will be extremely emotional. I have to feel a bit sorry for East Preston though...it might be a bit difficult for their players, having to play Worthing United, 950...
That's quite fabulous. There's been such solidarity across the Non League community. And credit to Brighton & Hove Albion, who have sold almost 1000 tickets for The FA Vase match between United and East Preston on Sunday. A fitting tribute.
A few words- and pictures- from last weeks FA Cup Preliminary Round tie between Shoreham and Horley Town. I thought I'd stick them here as it seems the most relevant place.

Just a little something from the Southern Combination Football League- formerly Sussex County. Sorry it's a bit late, after Saturdays tragic events I almost didn't write it at all.
For any Sussex Non League fans...
Last week I went to watch Crowborough Athletic take on Chessington & Hook United in the FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round, and was moved to write a few (!) words. Here they are, and I hope you like them.
Also featuring Kerry Katona- and Andy Parsons from Mock The Week...
Hi all,
I wrote this for Late Tackle Magazine back in June, and it hasn't been available elsewhere so I thought, after the weekends histrionics, that I'd slightly update it and post it to my website. It'll probably annoy Chelsea and Leeds United fans in equal measure, but I only write for fun...
New owner, new manager, new ground, new facilities, new 3G pitch; Worthing FC head for a bright new future. Interview with owner George Dowell, and a few pics from the friendly with Northampton Town.

A trip on the Ryman Premier League relegation roundabout. http://www.townsendaround.co.uk/football/little-league-love-affair/its-only-football-not-a-matter-of-life-and-death/
I hope you enjoy. I only write because I enjoy it- but it helps if other people like it too. I'd be glad of your feedback.
I understand that it isn't a priority for professional clubs, but do you think that sometimes their obvious disdain for the county cup is a little disrespectful to those non league sides who take it seriously?
Whitehawk win the Sussex Senior Cup with victory over Lewes- and this is almost a match report...
But I wondered what everyone's view is on County Cup competitions? I tend to watch lower level non league sides in Sussex- Conf South downwards- and their fans tend to view the competition as...

My apologies if you've already read this at Non League Daily, but in case you haven't, my interview with new Littlehampton Town Manager George Gaskin, 24. I thought I'd just add it here rather than start...
