Yeah, I'm assuming the permission is regarding doing it mid-season. Seems a sensible enough solution for the time being until the whole thing can be dug up and sorted properly in the summer.
Anyway, it's just started pissing it down again so we'll find out pretty quickly whether it's helped.
We've made the pitch a bit smaller to cut off the area that was causing the biggest issue: https://www.cu-fc.com/news/2024/march/pitch-change-approved
The area in front of the East Stand was the biggest issue, so by bringing the touchline in it should be ok.
The nine games before they arrived: P9, W1, D0, L8, F9, A23, GD -14
The nine games since they arrived: P9, W1, D6, L2, F10, A12, GD -2
They've definitely improved us and can feel hard done by not to have won a couple more - they will be pulling their hair out at individual howlers which can't...
Although I'm concerned we're drawing our way to relegation at the moment, I would happily take a seventh draw from nine this afternoon. We really would then need to follow that up with a home win on Tuesday night mind you.
There's clearly a drainage issue that needs sorting, but that's not the sort of thing that's going to be able to happen mid-season. It's only been this season that we've been having these issues - there is a theory that all of the building work happening next door is interfering with soakaways...
We do appear to be drawing our way to relegation at the moment, yes. I certainly wouldn't put that on the Cowleys though, we've been much better in near enough every metric since they came in and the side really should have four or five more points from their games - but there's not a lot they...
Presumably because there's only the two relegation spots... but then whilst we've been awful for the three seasons since covid, we have still ended with 51, 55 and 49 points which would near enough always avoid relegation in League One too where there's four spots.
I don't think we have been bad since Etherington was given the boot. Last week's 90th minute goal at Harrogate is the only defeat and I think we can feel hard done by not to have at least four more points from the last few games - 11 or 12 points from Cowley's six games would then be a good...
We keep shooting ourselves in the foot at the moment. Generally a lot more solid now under the Cowleys and seemingly playing with more belief/going for the win etc, but two big goalkeeping errors to throw four points away in the last two games and now an own goal against ten men to drop two...
