This is the worst we've looked in a long, long time. Tom Hopper is such a waste of a shirt but with Tovide injured and Taylor too old for so many games in quick succession there's literally no other option.
As long as we beat Accrington on Saturday it doesn't matter too much but it's been a...
Swapped the front three of Taylor, Edwards and Thorn for Hopper, Anderson and Gordon. Taylor and Edwards will be the big misses from that, but they both played 90 on Sunday so was always likely to need switching. Not sure we'll offer much of a threat going forwards though without Taylor, Edwards...
Good point tonight, would have taken that before kick-off.
Nine games unbeaten in all competitions now, including seven clean sheets. Six clean sheets in a row too.
Looks to me like he was just going in to whack a ball that has come loose in a bit of a 50/50 - the sort of challenge you see in every single game. Just unlucky for Bogle that his head had landed in the way.
Fleetwood hit the bar in the second half in their biggest chance, and we just blasted over the bar from six yards out with literally the last kick of the game. Possibly should have edged that but would have taken the point beforehand, especially if we can beat Swindon at home on Tuesday.
Decent enough half from us, controlled the game and looked good on the ball without quite posing enough of a threat to the Fleetwood goal. Another three points is there for the taking though.
Only downside is having both Anderson and Goodliffe go off through off-the-ball muscle injuries.
We've completely controlled the opening quarter of this one and looked pretty tidy, but with only one fit striker in the squad we don't look likely to ever score. 0-1 defeat pending.
We were in the bottom two with Exeter at this time of the year the first season after we were relegated, they ended up finishing 5th and we finished 8th, missing out on the play-offs on the final day by a point. Long way to go.
Funnily enough, Exeter beat Carlisle in the play-offs that year.
Agreed - it has been becoming much more infrequent though so he is maturing. Kwame Poku was the same age when he left for Peterborough, and Tovide has a far more about him for me.
Yes, he's been around the first team squad now since he was 16 and he will no doubt be the next one to go for big money. He has all of the attributes to really make it; he's very quick, really strong and powerful and good at all of the off the ball and hold up side of the game. Up until this...
I thought it was as scrappy a game as can be expected in those conditions really, so I'm not sure how much can be taken from it but it's nice to finally grind out a 1-0 rather than a 1-1 for a change.
