We have signed Ross Doohan from Celtic on a two year contract, with an option of a third year. Pleased with that as I thought he looked promising when on loan last season.
Hopefully the Patrick rumour is true.
I think McAlear is more of a creative midfielder. He scored seven goals for Inverness last season and 'ran the show' in midfield according to the Caley supporter who came on our podcast a couple of weeks ago.
Kahn is a 'nice' technical player but just does not offer enough in the final third, in terms of assists and goals. His statistics were very poor in that regard when he was with us.
Monthe's assets were his pace and strength and his recovery runs. His one versus one defending is good, but he is woeful in the air considering his size, and poor positionally.
Clarke is by far the superior defender in my view.
He is still a very solid defender who reads the game well and wins everything in the air. However, by playing him every week we were forced to defend deep last season, which really restricted our attacking threat. I think that is why we have allowed him to move on.
I am pleased Paul Lewis has...
Five of the nine goals scored by ex-Rovers players (Mani, Waterfall, Mullin), with Sousa prominent as well.
A real 'if Carlsberg did....' day for Tranmere supporters, with Wrexham and Liverpool both bottling it.
I thought Wrexham's style of play was really primitive considering the money...
Kieron Morris signed a two year extension with us yesterday, and we have the option of an additional year.
A brilliant bit of business as he has been our best player for several seasons now, and most of us were convinced he was League One bound.
It is a shame it has not worked out for Connor Jennings at Edgeley Park. He is still a semi-legendary figure with our fans because of the role he played in dragging us out of non-league football.
He was out of his depth in League One, but should be more than good enough in League Two or the...
Of the four clubs involved, I hope Swindon go up.
Unlike a lot of our supporters I have a bit of a soft spot for them, and see quite a lot of similarities between our two clubs. We both had our glory days in the early nineties and some great encounters in that period, but with leaner years...
Our away form has been poor all season, but has been awful since Christmas. The loss of key players like Glatzel, Spearing and Morris at vital times hit us hard, and our starting eleven is quite inexperienced and did not deal well with the pressure of playing away from home.
We have actually...
I think from his post match comments regarding squad building it is clear that he is staying, and rightly so.
As for the game, I thought it was a professional performance by us and we deserved to win. Murphy made a couple of decent saves in the first twenty minutes, but Orient ran out of ideas...
Not quite correct, as a Sutton draw would be good enough. Swindon and Sutton are both away from home as well, so stranger things have happened, albeit rarely to us.
My hope is that there is a bit of complacency in the Swindon camp. They still technically have a chance of automatic promotion...
I think we need a Salford win today to stand a realistic chance of making the play offs. That would give us two teams to aim at on the final day, rather than just Swindon, and a number of different permutations where we could make the top seven.
However, in reality it is probably already over...
He is a model pro, but we have got a very young starting eleven. There seems to be a divide between the older heads like Clarke and Spearing and some of the youngsters, and I think we need to shake things up a bit.
I think opinion is divided, and a majority would still keep him.
He has faded a bit in the second half of the season due to fatigue, with errors creeping in, and the same thing happened last season. My concern is that he is not going to be able to play forty six games next season, and that...
