Good November for Diamonds:
Moneyfields (H) League - D 2-2
Wellingborough (H) NFA Cup - W 6-1
Uxbridge (A) League - W 4-1
Kettering (H) League cup - W 3-2
Northwood (H) League - W 4-0
Ashford (A) League - W 2-0
Cambridge CIty (H) - W 2-0
Quite impressive since Moneyfields were unbeaten until...
Tuesday was a good night for Diamonds, a win against Cambridge City, who now fall to 5th, 4 points behind. Along with that was the surprise loss for leaders Moneyfield at home to Uxbridge, with no disrespect meant to the latter, more that it was Moneyfield's first loss of the season...

As ever a good write up there on 200%. Whenever a club seems to be close to going to the wall that seems like the best place to go to for a fair understanding of what happened.
Put simply it just seems they overspent. Nothing too special...
FYI DSL - I think I'm really starting to hate Alfreton this season...
http://www.afcdiamonds.com/nabil-shariff-moves-on
Nabs is very much a confidence player (like most strikers) who blows hot and cold, even cold he's pretty decent for this level, when he's hot he's way too good for it...
We've been in less than fantastic form ourselves, culminating in some fans trying to start a discussion about Peaks' position. It's probably not too much of a coincidence that I haven't been on here much recently - I've not been to a game in a while, and it's less inviting to come and talk about...
There are a couple of mysteries about this thread:
1. How it's popped back up when the issues involved have not changed and were well covered at the time
2. How I missed this obvious set up:
Kettering Town FC aren't much loved inside Kettering either
Diamonds 1 - 3 Alfreton
Despite the fact I expected it I'm still a bit disappointed. Listening to the game Alfreton had more chances, but Diamonds had spells on top - couldn't score in those spells. Ironically our goal came to level things at 1-1 just before half time when Alfreton were...
Well I didn't see any of that coming to be fair, leading 2-0 before getting pegged back to 2-2. Following on Twitter it was hard to tell how the game was, it seemed like Alfreton were the more likely to win it at the end but we held out for the replay (also praise to whoever runs the Alfreton...
As suspected - our RB today is a central midfielder and Punter at CB has played something like 45 mins of first team football in drabs since joining in the summer. 3 forwards, a winger and a young central midfielder on the bench plus GK and no 7th sub named. If we're anything close to competent...
Waiting to see our lineup but I think we've probably got a few too many injuries to really have too much chance of causing a shock. Really hope I'm wrong here of course!
I'm not able to I don't think - being London based I was hoping we'd be in the southern section again, or at least get a home draw!
All the reaction from our side has been pretty much the same - a very poor draw for us, we'd be happy to get a replay I think.
On the plus side, if this is the...
One of the better UCL sides (step 5), we're rather familiar with them from our UCL days and we even ended up playing them in the cup after getting out of that division.
As with most step 5 sides they change a fair bit year to year, but they are on the better side, and I believe they will be...
Alfreton vs AFCR&D
I suspect Alfreton may be happy with this draw. Not great for Diamonds, our 5th away game in a row in the competition, and with a low chance of going through.
Tividale 2 - 3 Diamonds
Given a bit of a scare by the team a couple of divisions lower going behind twice, but Nabil Shariff took his tally for the season up to 10 already by putting in all 3 goals.
In the hat for the 2nd qualifying round once again, I'd like something winnable please...
Step 5-6 teams with reserve sides might be an option too. Sometimes at that level reserve sides struggle for players. Check the full time page for your local step 5/6 reserve league - maybe look for teams with fewer players or worse results.
You're basically looking for contact info for...
I'm always cautious with FA Cup games, especially away from home, we've been the underdog knocking out teams from a level or two above us before.
That said a game against a step 6 side is the best you can hope for at this stage, even if they did have to come through a couple of rounds to get...
