Seems to have regressed a fair bit since his time here, think Leeds fans will testify to that. Did a little better at Birmingham from what I saw.
He was utterly superb in his first season or so for us - stupidly quick winger with a knack of making great striker's runs to get on the scoresheet...
Odd day. First the Pritchard move being hijacked by Norwich (still no confirmation either way on that though), and whilst all that was going on, it appears we were busy wrapping up the signing of Oliver Norwood from Reading...
Has never been able to run in fairness, always relied on positioning and reading of the game. Might struggle to adapt to a less familiar team/playing style though as he knew our system inside out.
We're apparently chasing Duffy from them too (along with a load of other clubs), so I don't know...
Out of keeping with the current tone of the thread somewhat..
Blackburn have picked up Gordon Greer on a year's deal. Will do a job for another season I reckon.
JJH makes a good point, and this (potentially) very exciting signing has come a little bit out of nowhere. There's no obvious position that he'd occupy in the current 4-4-2 we play, so I'm guessing Hughton will adapt it slightly for Pritchard to play off the front man (be it Murray or Hemed)...
Will do Brighton. Although as it stands I might as well just put "see: last season."
Very little transfer movement to report.
EDIT: Appears to be a similar situation at Wednesday. Derby too.
Please, please no. Of all the "difference makers" we have who we'd be reluctant to sell (especially to a rival), I imagine he'd top the list. Absolutely crucial to our chances.
Been a really quiet window for us in terms of incoming signings, mostly as we have the bulk of a pretty settled squad...
We saw very little evidence of how he managed to bag 15 goals for you the season before we signed him but he must've scored them somehow.
More than capable of holding the ball up, I'll give him that. If he can help Burton upset a few of the better sides in the division it'll (hopefully) prove a...
Yeah I can't see it. Generally rated the better of the two, albeit a couple of years older. Stephens has more goals in him I guess. Loath to lose either of them.
Yep, similar player to Hendrick in fairness (and would be a solid replacement for Barton), but I'd hope we're continuing to do everything we can to keep the current squad (and especially the midfield pairing) together. Suspect we've rightly slapped a silly and unrealistic price tag on him as...
Yeah it'd be a good move for Jake, looked to have huge potential when he first broke through at Albion (age 17) but never really developed as expected. Still young though, and seemed to get on well in his loan last season.
If he can nail down a specific midfield role at Rotherham and play week...
Both I think about as good as any Championship club could expect to get without paying a sizeable transfer fee. Although steep wages I'd guess, and we'll probably have to fork out a loan fee of sorts (season-long apparently). Be interesting to see who scores more. Still awaiting actual...
Weird. His hold up play at Brighton (and Palace from the painful number of times I saw him for them) was utterly flawless at times, we've not had a player who comes close since.
That said, I'll approach the signing with cautious optimism. He's a Zamora replacement essentially, and I can't say...
Didn't sound like he had a great time of it in his previous couple of loans last season. Definitely a talented keeper in there somewhere though based on his brief appearances in our first team - hopefully he'll benefit from playing under someone he knows very well in Jones. (I realise he was...
