Given how shady some of these owner characters are, I didn't even know you could fail these fit and proper people tests. Even the Allam's passed it FFS.
It's just a hunch, mainly based on the questions asked in that new letter, which appears to be a precursor to 'well you can have some more National League sides in the League, or we can bring in the Old Firm and make lots of £££££' in the future.
Given the move to bring them into the FL would...
I'm almost certain thinking about it that the Old Firm clubs would go straight into the Championship, less National League clubs into League 3.
There's a definite effort to split the Championship and Premier League away from the rest of the FL, presumably to protect relegated PL clubs.
Not sure there's an official 'boycott' as such, like the EFL stuff, but more just a general anger about the whole situation which will lead quite a few to not bother.
An okay compromise is half price, I've said that previously. Power makes a bit of profit, fans are okay with it, everyone happy...
This is why I'm a bit worried. Voted to stay but would rather it goes smoothly (which it has so far to be fair), but ultimately there's gonna be a whole other load of volatility when we trigger article 50 and I think that's the real test. You'd have thought so anyway.
Relatively pleased with our business yesterday, some seem to rate the kids at Chelsea however I have no clue. They have 16 mins of senior football between them, so yeah. :ds: We'll see though!
Boateng is a signing I'm happy with, good defensive mid for Plymouth last year, still young and...
Somebody made a fake Rovers account announcing we'd signed Sylvan Ebanks Blake for nearly £250k
I was about to throw my season ticket out of the window :lol:
This was the point for me, there's no chance of us selling our allocation again for a Tuesday night. We did a Monday night (?) on Sky at Swindon a few years back and our following was pretty poor.
Half price I doubt many would have complained, it's not a refund like we've had in the past but...
I'm afraid I would be one of them (who boycotts the final), its sort of why I hope two U23 teams get there though.
It probably helps I've done a JPT Final and trips to Wembley before though, I imagine for some that decision would be less easy if they'd not had the same experiences.
Yep, 'policing costs' given as the main reason - yet when we had the same situation with Wycombe away being abandoned (Wycombe mind, no offence to em but much smaller crowds than Swindon) they gave a full refund.
Appears fans are entitled to half price tickets for cup games and even play-off...
The FL vs FL fixtures could skew things a bit, I reckon more will go to our game against Yeovil than tonight for example.
Pompey are absolute nutters though, the whole 'buy a ticket then walk out' is the worst approach for a minor Trophy game.
Checkatrade now using the 'so you're not supporting your team' line on fans who are boycotting the games.
Pretty shameful to be honest. Whole thing is a mess.
It's true unfortunately. Maybe I'm being pessimistic but when the likes of Cov and Plymouth are expecting sub 1000 gates, then clubs like ourselves shouldn't even be contemplating the idea of getting near the 1000 mark. Fingers crossed its a 3-figure gate.
Fair play, I hope its been easier convincing Cov fans not to go than it has been ours. Less than 500 sold as of yesterday but I wouldn't be surprised if the number doubled with POTD :ffs:
