Can't disagree with what you say, I have been saying for 2 seasons that we need to stop this playing it out from the back because we don't have good enough players to do it safely.
Our pitch (supposed to be a £600k complete new one laid 18 months ago) is awful...bloody awful. Serious...
My goodness : We were awful tonight...honestly awful. How we managed a goal is almost beyond me, but we somehow had a shot on target and it beat the giant Port Vale goalie in injury time.
Although we were truly horrific, Port Vale were not too much better, and only troubled our diminutive...
I'm a mile from the ground. Last night was pretty bad, and the river was in danger of bursting its banks again; but it's forecast to ease during the day and be quite calm tomorrow. Unless there has been damage to the stadium due to the high winds or the pitch is flooded, we should be ok.
You were on top in the first half, and deservedly went into the break 1-0 up. We went 4-4-2 and it didn't work.
At half time, we changed it to one up front and an extra midfield player, and it made a big difference, as we then controlled the midfield for long periods.
Pitch wasn't the best...
Well; Dale somehow managed to snatch defeat away from the jaws of a deserved point. Having watched it back, I can seldom recall such an awful goalkeeping mistake in 40 odd years. Coleman will never have an easier save to make if he plays until he's 80.
FGR were similar to their...
O'Keefe is good going forward but imho a bit lightweight defensively. He is also prone to falling over too easily.
We need him back, because basically; we have no-one else !!
Who else wants him?
To be honest, we were very lightweight yesterday, and seldom looked like scoring. Didn't help ourselves by a very rusty opening during which Tranny scored twice; both utterly avoidable from our point of view.
No surprise when we sell our leading scorer, our playmaker/chance creator from...
Halifax is a really good day out. Yes; there are one or two dodgy areas, but it's in the main a lively, vibrant town with a superb selection of pubs and eateries. There are now plenty of new bars serving a bewildering variety of craft beers. I'm thinking that you have not been there recently...
This will backfire very badly on the owners of OAFC, and may lead to even more action being taken against them. How short sighted of them, and indicative of people who don't understand football at all.
I'm sure I speak for supporters of all the other L2 teams in wishing Oldham all the very...
Bit of both.
Rochdale is full of covid, Last saturday before Xmas, freezing cold, elderly fanbase keeping safe, plus we've been rubbish at home for years !!
Did well to get so many in. Good turnout from Newport, but rather quiet compared to most; including your lot on another cold day.
Keep yer knickers on.
Look at the thread title. "Best and worst you've seen"
Northampton were gash against Dale on the only occasion I saw you. I have no clue how you play now because I don't see you play every week.
And breathe.....
It always amazes me how defensive some people get...
Not that it means too much yet, but
Best: FGR. Big, strong and very well organised.
Worst: Can't split Northampton, Sutton and Tranmere (thought they were awful on the day )
Honourable mention for Rochdale, who gave one of the worst 90 minute performances since Graham Barrow was Manager...
The recent off field problems were caused mainly by the old CEO, who is a cretin. He was voted off the Board together with another Director at our June AGM.
Those two, together with a couple of large shareholders, had plotted to sell the club (whilst they looked to profit from the sale of...
Hmm.. Sutton could and probably should have been 4 or 5 down before our Keeper went all rag handed. it was only fair that Dale snatched it with almost the last kick of the game.
Sutton surprised me with how poor they were today; given that on average they were twice the size of our team. Looked...
From the Main Stand i.e opposite you, it looked about right. My guess on the day was 1600.
The two blocks nearest the Sandy Lane End were not quite half full and the block nearest the Pearl St End was left empty for segregation purposes. Plenty of other seats visible in the other blocks as...
