Never had a worry on the injury front with Hazel. Nelson I just don't think will ever get back to being a regular scorer. I despair of some of our fans at times. Has to be a scapegoat, even one who got 22 goals last season.
That's my worry, especially as we are looking like letting Jacob Hazel go. Asante and Nelson are both prone to injuries, which leaves us in the lap of the gods.
Very good first half display against Chester. Two really good goals as well. Second half, we displayed a bit of grit and determination for once, and defended stoutly. Burton, Lawlor, Hatfield and Salkeld were excellent. Chester do like to get in the ref's ear after every tackle. Think they...
Another disappointing defeat. First half, wasn't a lot in it. We were probably the better side until keeper let in a soft shot. We lost Lawlor to injury, which, with no centre halves on the bench, meant Platt had to go into back 3. Spennymoor controlled the second half, could have had a few more...
0-0 with Blyth. Defence looked a lot more solid - Burton MOM on debut, looks a decent signing and encouraged Lawlor to have best game in ages. Little to nothing going forward though. Blyth created little - lot of tippy tappy stuff without ever threatening our goal. Spennymoor on Saturday - test...
He's the Sunday morning League lad, who has a pie before kick off, a can of lager at half-time, and still runs the show (or walks the show in Barrett's case).
Barrett is the only threat they have, yet we somehow managed to leave him on his own twice for 2 goals. Actually, 3 times but the keeper saved a one on one to prevent his hat trick. Think our "analyst" would have worked out he was the one player we needed to mark. Coulson at the back was...
Yes, we still do Boost the Budget. Raised £160,000 this year, but unfortunately Armstrong has blown it on a woefully unbalanced squad, and Gowling is struggling to turn them into a coherent unit. We leak far too many goals and are just too easy to play through. A side with Lees, Lawlor...
Long hard season ahead. Lost to a very poor Scarborough team. Still conceding comedy goals, and little threat up front. Need 10 Will Hatfield's, who is carrying the rest of them at present.
Hoping Hatfield, Platt and Lawlor can turn fortunes around. A loss in this one would be worrying. If Hatfield and Platt play, and they have to, not sure who will be leading from the bench as Lawlor is suspended for his sending off last week so I assume cannot be involved.
Campbell did very well in NLN at both Darlington and Gateshead. Decent goals return, and very good assists record. Not that that will have a bearing on him in the EFL, but have to be fair to him.
