Well apparently Slade’s son has pretty much just confirmed he’s got the job on Twitter.
If he’s announced that is an absolute disgrace, and one of the worst we could have made. Completely taking the piss out of the fans Russell fucking Slade.
That’s a bit of a relief, though Russell Slade out of nowhere into favourite is a bit of a worry (thankfully the betting on these markets is usually based on nothing but money placed).
A few reliable sources on our end said he was all set to join until our board lowered the money they’d already...
Club supported Carlisle United
Best moment of the season: Not a great deal to cheer about, probably beating Oldham 3-2 in the FA Cup.
Low point: As shoddy said, probably that Wycombe collapse - conceding 2 stoppage time goals against 10 men.
Best awayday: Only done Swindon and Morecambe in...
Should be a few decent away days this year, looks a lot nicer for us geographically compared to the season just gone. Would be nice if we’re challenging at the top end but that largely relies on our managerial appointment.
If all that is true (no reason to believe it’s not), it is absolutely shocking. An appointment the majority of fans would be very happy with and the manager himself wants the job, and they’ve fucked him off.
Coventry were superb last night, looked a cut above going forward. County had a good spell and should’ve been level but Coventry took advantage, McNulty ran the match and the young lads looked very decent.
Tough final to call, guessing most people will want Exeter to go up due to distance.
Not really bothered about Joyce leaving, I agree with HG saying he’d have released him. Solid midfielder for this level but doesn’t offer much going forward. The worrying thing is the fact our contract offers have been quickly rejected, the money on offer and lack of manager the main reasons.
Looking forward to watching this one tomorrow, think it’ll be the pick of the playoffs in the Football League. I’d like to see Exeter get promoted (despite beating us this time last year ), but this tie could really go either way, and I think there’ll be a few goals.
2-2 first leg
Can’t say I’ve heard of too many of these players released from various clubs, except all the aging journeymen from Grimsby and the like.
I’d take Elito and Mingoia from Cambridge though.
I’m another that would quite like to see Hopkin or someone similar get the job, looks like he’s done a great job up in Scotland and could bring in a few hidden talents.
Typical end of season game yesterday with both teams having nothing to play for, but nice send off for Curle and also Clint Hill who could’ve played his last ever game, fantastic player this season.
Hoping Morecambe can survive today, but I’d say Barnet are favourites to stay up. I would be a bit worried if I was a Barnet fan though with a point benefitting both Morecambe and Coventry as above, no surprise the odds on a draw are fairly short.
Anyone but Clark :eyes:
Think it’ll probably be McDonald, though I’d just like to see somebody fresh who’ll instill some excitement, not one of the lower-league journeymen.
Officially confirmed that Curle is leaving at the end of the season, having been speculated for weeks if not months.
Probably the right decision in my opinion, improved us from when he took over but stalled a bit this season, some great memories but also lots of moments to forget too.
Now...
Can’t see anything but Luton sealing promotion in style here, maybe a 3-0 or similar, but at least the weather will be nice. I’m sure the Luton fans will enjoy their day/night, for us, roll on next season.
Quite depressing always reading about Luton, Exeter etc. making large sums of money from their young players whilst we’ve got a squad of journeymen and no highly rated youngsters coming through. I’m jealous of these clubs, we’re just stalling on and off the pitch and the plan seems to be...
Lincoln fans unhappy about the opposition’s antics and a poor refereeing performance :pond:
On Wycombe, they’ve won 4 points from injury time goals against us this season, fair play to them even if it’s not easy on the eye, we had a similar knack of pulling results from everywhere during our...
