One day we'll beat Northampton, only Oxford have more of a hex over us. Let's hope it's tomorrow, although our lack of available centre backs is somewhat alarming.
Notts County will always score goals with a front line of Jon Stead and Izale McLeod, but look leaky at the back as well. When we play well we can tear defences apart, alas that rarely seems to last for more than a half. I'll go for an away win or a high scoring draw.
Ignoring MK (which I try to do), the only one that springs to mind really is Crawley. But, as LadyWomble pointed out, it never really was particularly fierce (other than for a couple of games in the conference) and it's not so much fun now that Evans is no longer in charge.
As we rose up...
We didn't play well but thankfully just about had enough to get the three points. It seems that we have the hex over Exeter at our place, just like they do over us at their place.
So far this season we've been a team that can't play for more than one half. If we can change that, and it's a big if, then I think we could be a decent team.
Fair play to Cambridge for coming out of the traps blazing in the second half, albeit that our marking for the two corners was...
Delighted to get our first points but can't help but feel that it was against a rudderless team that won't be seeing league football for that much longer
With lower expectations comes greater joy when wins come along, let alone wins where we display some level of flair. It's quite refreshing going into seasons without the feeling that if we lose our first few games our season is ruined.
Ross Worner, Jack Smith, Alfie Potter, Mark Phillips and Sammy Moore all leaving. Sad to see Sammy Moore leave, our last player remaining from non-league.
I don't think that Plymouth could pick a better game at this crunch time. If we were in a similar position, I'd want us to play Wimbledon at home :conf:
I can't see Tranmere and Hartlepool both winning two of their last four games, which is what would have to happen for Carlisle or Mansfield to have a chance of going down.
Daggers, Oxford and Accrington are just goal difference away from clinching this. Daggers can no longer be relegated but still have a theoretical chance of clinching a play off spot on goal difference, while it's the other way around for Oxford and Accrington who cannot reach the play offs but...
Everything points to a home win:
- in 2015 we've yet to win away from home. Played 8, drawn 3 lost 5.
- we have a terrible record against teams at the bottom. Hartlepool have done the double over us. The only team in the bottom eight that we have managed to beat is York.
- our win last week...
Pompey, Wimbledon, Morecambe, D&R, Mansfield and Accrington now make up the leading pack for this one. Unfortunately Northampton have fallen by the wayside and Exeter look like they're stumbling out of the race as well.
Coming from nowhere are Luton, who are making a determined late charge to...
