We are ditching Bignot at the end of this season, it's been announced. His post-match interview after Friday's embarassing display suggested he knew this already. Onward to the Conf North. Hopefully it can't be as woeful and depressing as this season,
We have apparently signed former Lincoln City midfielder Karl Cunningham, 24, on a short term (non-contract) deal. Presumably he's playing for expenses and maybe a bag of crisps. Anybody recall him?
Can only go by what I saw on Tuesday. Seen a number of physical sides this season but you definitely win the annual 'thug team of the year' award ... not even close. Perhaps you're inured to it by now. :ffs:
What a team of thugs. Feel sympathy for any Dover fans having to watch that week in and week out. Thankfully it's Aldershot at home on Saturday so we may be entertained with a bit of football.
I very much doubt we'll have to re-start. Our problem has been mainly one of cash flow, and the money already raised will probably account for any losses over this season. We will be relegated (purely on playing form) and will have a much reduced playing budget next year. Hartlepool is a less...
I wouldn't disagree, but not sure that's a common view amongst our fanbase. However he did get a tremendous reception at the fund raising all-stars game last week, when he appeared late on (was delayed by a training session with some distant northern club or other ).
Whether Bignot stays...
He started the season ok but was then moved out wide by Bignot, which doesn't suit him nor makes best use of his strengths. Seemed to lose confidence and interest after that and became an anonymous passenger. Glad he's shown up for you, he's a much better player than he's shown of late.
Thought the game had the look of a 0-0 draw and, as you said, there were few chances. Funnily enough I thought it was a lack of real quality in your front men that was your weakest link. We certainly looked tired after Saturday's effort, but it generally was an interesting, fast paced game. By...
Will be interesting to see if we can make it two wins in a row tonight. If we are to escape relegation then I think we'll need this win to develop a positive (and confident) mindset going into the next couple of months, rather than simply gaining three points over another possible relegation...
Looks the part, can score some good goals (but not many). Tends to be a bit anonymous and not sure he likes the physicality of the lower league game. Always left with the impression that if he could be fired up he'd be a very good player.
