Before our loss of form we had a +16 GD. Problem is we scored 5 goals in the last 2 months and conceded at least three times as much which is an unfair reflection on a defence thats often performed well but badly been let down by us firing a blank in far too many games this season.
I give them 3 years and they're back in the non league abyss from whence they came.
They'll be absolutely fine next season though because there are some basket case candidates for relegation next season.
After my abysmal initial prediction watching that first half this game is still riddled with next to no quality but it sure has been a lot more chaotic!
Yeah obviously we have 4 behemoths in the North West to contend with but then the rise of Stoke has also had an impact on us as our decline began when their rise did. So I was thinking more of bigger clubs in close proximity to you like Forest, Derby and the two Sheffield clubs really. Not to...
I'm delighted Boreham Wood never went up and I hope AFC Fylde never go up too for the same reason. Danny Hunter and David Haythornthwaite are two highly detestable individuals for a start.
Honestly can't say I know much about either of these teams but what I'm seeing right now is absolutely...
Money is my guess. You just know there'll be fairweathers in every team's support and not just ours going "I'd rather save my money for Wembley". Granted, times are tough, but no guarantee any side will get to Wembley so it's a strange attitude to have.
I completely and wholeheartedly disagree with JJs comments, as would the vast majority of our fanbase I'm pretty sure.
When I first started going we got big attendances for a small town club, much bigger than we get now, as you would if you were playing Championship or high end League One...
Managed less than 500 to us in the Winter and when going for a League One title over a decade ago barely brought more than 1000. Don't recall Donny ever selling out at our place before but yeah, we're wrong not to give them more tickets apparently...
I'd love old school terracing back, I'd love the possibility for fans to take over 10,000 fans away like they did back in the day for big games (Sunderland at Maine Road comes to mind in the 90s) and almost limitless attendances but it's not going to happen for a variety of reasons is it? Most...
Forgive his pessimism but I believe it'll pretty much be a similar attendance of around 9000. The weekly pay brigade get their packets today so a fair few are shifting this afternoon. If 7000 home fans will turn up in the freezing cold to watch us play Barrow, I'm sure we'll get well over 7000...
Seems we've kept Conor Thomas on a 2 year deal which is surprising, especially if we get promoted this Summer as he'll be totally ineffective in League One and a squad player in League Two at best.
I wouldn't have been surprised if it was 1 year but 2 years is far too steep. That said, I'd...
As it should be. Should always put your own first.
Did find it funny some Doncaster fans moaned we wouldn't give them more tickets though. We didn't have to give Doncaster any more than 1000 and have given them the full away end. Wouldn't have got that at Crawley or Barrow. Plus we've just had...
Gutted for Alty here. Guaranteed new ground next year at least which is a rarity with Crewe these days. But I've worked near Solihull's ground quite a bit and I know that ground just isn't appealing at all...
We've been to Wembley 4 times and never conceded a goal in normal time. Unfortunately we lost our first visit to York on penalties but 3 wins since.
I'd have rather played MK than Doncaster in the playoffs though. MK are cursed in the playoffs whereas the last time we played Doncaster over 2...
