Just because of how this has come about, how you've re-appointed the last two previous managers at the same time and the hokey cokey feel to it, I reckon this is up there with the Martin Allen/Barnet and Ferguson/McCann revolving door at Posh!
Does make you wonder if the Cambridge board know...
You'd still take a decent amount though wouldn't you? Tonnes of day-trippers on these kinda games and first time back there since the crowds supercharged.
When we won it in 2018, we took c30k but that was also our first time ever at Wembley (PO Finals were at Cardiff when we got there twice).
Mansfield are in a similarly sticky patch that we were in last season in November/December/January where we had 11 or 12 out, playing what wasn't far off a reserve side and a record of 1 win in 15 or something, but managed to dig out three or four 0-0's instead of losing all the rest.
I'm not...
Yeah we don't really have enough pace in the squad full stop and those with a bit of it are out injured, it's one of the things we need to sort for next season and has made us very clunky because when you defend a bit deeper, you can't then counter particularly well and get up the pitch.
Makama...
Jackson, Bayliss and Collins will come back in for this one I suspect. Potentially Hamilton for McGrandles as well (who's well out of form) and Darikawa returning after missing Orient (wife gave birth on Friday night). Don't think Clucas will start twice in quick succession.
Dunno what to...
Individual mistakes again for us. It's bizarre how we're generally ok defending as a team yet someone will contrive to drop a bollock and we concede from it.
Showed a bit of fight but that's only 3 wins in 18 now.
A bit bizarre they've suggested a black badge, which aren't your home kit colours? Can't imagine there are many instances where a club badge doesn't reflect home kit colours.
Sacking Monk now does seem very 'it gives us some time to plan for L2', although 8(?) points adrift isn't insurmountable at this point if there's a bit of a bounce.
Cambridge have Crawley, Stevenage, Wigan, Blackpool, Posh, Barnsley, Northampton in March and that's a huge month. A stinking...
5 changes for us, definitely a selection of a squad that have three games this week with Jackson, Bayliss and Collins all on the bench. Darikwa not even in the 18.
Can't work out whether we're sticking with 5-3-2 or switching to a 4-3-3. Either way, we don't have any full backs or wing backs in...
Orient away.
Our absentees are stacking up. Walker, Moylan and Hamer are out now along with Cadamarteri and Erhahon (suggestions that both are also out of the season), Hamilton hasn't trained this week and our appeal of Gardener's red card against Cambridge has been rejected - mental how that's...
I think we all agree it'd be a great day if Posh go down, but I've got a feeling that when Poku returns for them (March?) then he'll get them a few extra points.
As I had an inkling about, Draper signs a new deal until 2028.
Another clear indication that we're prepared to be more patient with younger players and see where they are at 22-24, rather than 18-20 as a few years back.
We'd help his cause if we actually played to his strengths a bit more.
Home to Cambridge.
We're without Walker, Cadamarteri, Moylan, Hamer and unfortunately Erhahon, who went off at HT last weekend at Wigan and is out for a few weeks.
Wickens was back on the bench last weekend but despite that, Skubala decided to keep Jeacock in goal.
Can't see a repeat of last...
There's a graph within that article as well, which shows that even excluding Birmingham, L1 transfer spend was about 3x higher than last year (from £7m to £20m) and aside from 2009-2011 (where it was about £10m), has pretty much always been in the £5m-£7.5m range as a division.
Said it before but until the NL fall in line with the EFL when it comes to cost controls (and I use that term loosely, but they're better than the current zero controls in the NL), then it's a non-starter anyway, even if EFL sides agree to it, which I doubt they will.
Up to this point, they've...
