A trip to the Kassam awaits - always a treat!
The only blot on Paolo Di Canio's quite glorious copybook during his illustrious tenure at Swindon Town was not putting the scummers to the sword - it is great to have the opportunity to resume normal service.
With the exception of Roofe's excellent goal, I thought the standard was absolute shite, a proper League 2 affair if I have ever seen one between two very limited sides.
I guess Rovers are just glad to be back in what is the big leagues for them, and aiming to 'do an Oxford' and consolidate at...
Been watching Green Street again, Eric?
-For those on here who don't know, Eric Read is a regular poster on the main Oxford board (well, at least he was when Swindon pissed the league under Di Canio in 11/12).
The majority of his posts are him 'reliving' the glory days, much to the amusement...
Has a player ever looked more out of his depth at Championship level than Big Flinty?
Absolute comedy gold watching the highlights this morning, the poor fucker doesn't stand a chance!
Afternoon all
I hope you have enjoyed the summer months - it's good to be back.
Early days but it looks as if Mr Power has put together another top, top side for this level with some very talented footballers so I await with interest how we fare.

Flint*
Turnbull*
Byrne*
Luongo
Kasim
Freeman
Bryan
Williams
Wilbraham
* I accept City fans will argue Ayling/Williams should come in and some STFC would have N.Thompson in there. I reckon the rest picks itself.
*Mark Little...
Best one against us in the league was probably the long ranger by the Oldham player at the County Ground.
However, this once scored in the League Cup beats it, and will beat the majority posted in this thread:
For Swindon, our best off the top of my head was Louis Thompson v Sheffield United:
Looking forward to this, City fans are desperate for 'revenge', lets make no mistake about that and rightly so. Who can blame them after November's humiliation.
Is that cart horse Williams still getting a look in or has he been farmed out to League 2?
His display on the opening day remains one of the highlights of the season so far.
Hopefully we will have a strong ref on the 7th - what with the City antics last time including the Elliott assault, our players need all the protection they can get.
I am hoping for a Kevin Keegan style pre match rant from Cotterill, to be fair his post match interview at he County Ground will not be beaten easily - comedy gold.
