Don't really see the issue with that, I think it's fairly common for pre-season. Villa had two sides at Shrewsbury the other night.
Just take the money and run.
Started out with us as a youngster and showed a bit of promise as a nippy winger. Did the rounds on loan with the usual non-league sides around Lincolnshire, Gainsborough, Stamford etc. Released when Danny Cowley came in and was soon picked up by Notts County, but don't think he ever got a look...
Pete O'Rourke linking Imps and Salford with a move for Mansfield defender Krystian Pearce. I call bullshit and I strongly suspect it's his agent touting his name around. Also suspect Mansfield would want a big fee even though he's approaching the final year of his contract.
Plus our priority is...
It's obviously not looking good now but is there an argument to make Bury will come out of this sorry saga in a better position than they started it? Chances are they'll end up back in L2 but they should - emphasis on should - be financially prudent and should finally stop dishing out salaries...
That's kinda my point though. I'd sign Cherno Samba (or in this instance, Danny Mayor) but I wouldn't bring four or five of his former teammates with him. I'd then set up a broad scouting network that wasn't just reliant on stealing players from one club, cos' sooner or later than supply will...
I get why he's doing it, go with what you know and all that, but I still think it's lazy. Sign one or two, fine, but I just think it's getting a bit silly now. The players he learned to trust at Bury were once outsiders as well, it's an inherent part of a manager's job to take risks on new...
Other than Mayor, did the other three really play a significant role? When I think of their side last season the first players that come to mind are Mayor, Maynard, O'Shea, Adams and Rossiter.
