    2019/20 Isthmian League

I can't pinpoint the relevant links right now but it's already decided how the vacant places would be allocated. It's reprieves at Steps 1, 2 & 4 for Aldershot, Truro and Molesey; but no reprieve at Step 3 for Basingstoke, where the spare place goes to Heybridge as an "unlucky" play off winner...

    2019-20 National League South

How many times have they actually lost: 2? 3? Dulwich had this "play off bottlers" tag applied to us by supporters of some other clubs whilst losing four finals and a semi in 7 seasons (with a promotion as champions in between), but all the defeats were away from home, and four of the teams...

Worst town in the National League.

Pretty much every town along the Kentish Thames Estuary from Woolwich to Sittingbourne is thoroughly grim. Dartford town centre is like a set for a Little Britain sketch. At least Dover (and Chatham) are historically interesting. Margate, Ramsgate and Folkestone are a contrasting mix of hopeless...

Worst town in the National League.

Braintree is a bit peculiar. Those odd looking houses are mainly just around the ground. It was a small town that expanded rapidly in recent decades with new housing, presumably for overspill from elsewhere. Canvey Island is odd. Lots of bungalows and you get whole streets where no two houses...

    Gateshead

This is the key I think. Dulwich were under close scrutiny this time last year as a newcomer to the National League (South) due to the uncertain situation concerning the ground. I know it was a massive learning curve for the club officials compared to dealing with the Isthmian League. At a...

    Admission Prices 2019/2020.

Personally I'd scrap all concessions for those in full-time employment. Most if not all those covered will be on at least the London Living Wage, whereas private sector workers in retail, security, delivery drivers, cleaners etc will often not be, and our society needs people willing to do all...

What's this "Nomads"? I've seen reference to it before but when I tried searching all I found was a Sussex based forum for mainly county league stuff.

Dulwich do. I think we probably set the record for variety of concessions: Concessions: • Students with valid ID • Aged 61 and over • NHS Workers • Unemployed • PIP Recipients • Local Authority Workers • Emergency Services • Armed Forces Teenagers: • 13 to 19 year olds
  9. Pink Panther

Worst town in the National League.

I went for the first time in over a decade this season and was shocked at how depressed the town centre is. Yet their ground has a big sign proclaiming it to be "Built by a Conservative Council", and when I checked online 34 of 44 local councilors in the borough are Tories. On my way home to...

Dulwich have one regular supporter due to turn 100 n December. I've got a feeling he was awarded a life season ticket a few years back but I'm not certain. He's been following the club since 1931 and got to away games as far afield as Gloucester and Eastbourne amongst others.

2018-19 Isthmian League Thread ("Bostik" if you must)

I was just surprised he walked away from Merstham after 7 years of steady improvement. I'd have fancied them to challenge again next year. After seeing Dulwich grow steadily over the last decade I've seen first hand the benefits of consistency and continuity. Someone is clearly subsidising...

    Admission Prices 2019/2020.

Only Woking, St Albans and Chelmsford charged £15 in the South this season (Chelmsford was £13 online in advance with no booking fee) and I don't think any of them charged extra for a seat. Dartford and one other (possibly Truro) charged £14 and everyone else was split roughly 50/50 between £13...

Worst town in the National League.

I stand corrected. I don't mind a vibrant cultural melting pot with a shit town centre!
  14. Pink Panther

Worst town in the National League.

I don't mind somewhere a bit rough with character like Barrow or Dover. Borehamwood is just a hellhole whose only redeeming feature is the ease and speed with which you can get back to London. Harlow, Crawley, Stevenage and (Tr)Ashford are just as bad, though not currently in the National League.

    2018-19 National League South

That seems to be fairly common at a lot of the Sussex and Kent coastal clubs right down to Isthmian D1S or even county league level, possibly because a lot of the grounds tend to have the clubhouse behind one goal or in a corner and you get a core of regulars who don't like to stray far from...

    2018-19 National League South

And now you've got used to it you'll have to adjust back again! For supporters of clubs rising from a lower level it's the same principle in reverse of course.

    2018-19 National League South

Bettamer looked impressive in a good attacking side at Staines under Johnson Hippolyte, clearly good enough for a higher level than Isthmian Premier. wouldn't mind him at Dulwich! Most clubs have a few supporters looking to wind up their rivals online. A few can be genuinely witty but most of...

2018-19 Isthmian League Thread ("Bostik" if you must)

Possibly irrelevant as they're 2-3 down a couple of minutes from the end of extra time, but they're on the edge of the catchment area for their current division whereas they'd be pretty central in National South with Hampton, Slough, Wealdstone, Dulwich, Dorking, Dartford and Welling or Woking...

2018-19 Isthmian League Thread ("Bostik" if you must)

You're very lucky if you get anything like that overturned, and it's especially infuriating when it involves a key player missing a major match. We had a similar one at Dulwich recently when Nyren Clunis was sent off in a league match at Chippenham. This is a player who has just completed his...
