I instinctively thought that’s Grimsby safe after yesterday but 4 of their final 5 games are away and they’ve struggled on the road. They are still likely to pick up the minimal number they need but you just never know. Lose the next couple and Colchester Tuesday week could be huge and I’d back...
Down to 2 from 3, likely FGR and one of Colchester/Sutton. And most likely FGR and Sutton. We were definitely down whilst Colchester were leading. Need Stockport to get the job done Tuesday there and whittle games in hand down without points.
Could do with Wrexham getting the job done Sat, need to put MK out of contention prior to last day as well as the obvious of putting one on Colchester.
Reckon the safety mark will be at least 46 points, which is a tough ask for us. Beat Stockport and we’d have a chance. If it’s more than 46 we’re going to have to find 3 very good wins, almost impossible. Grimsby have a great chance to almost put it to bed this Saturday against a stuttering...
Another good win. Should have really put 6 or 7 on Swindon. We’ve had a good run but it’s got to be remembered we’ve played the worst (current) sides in the league as part of this batch of wins - Notts C, FGR, Swindon and Accrington. Add Salford who aren’t setting it alight and you can see how...
Gained in what sense? Not sure Grimsby are well out of it 3 points off the drop zone. But a win Monday and they would be and I don’t think they’ll drop. Colchester have 3 games in hand but a tough little run now. I don’t put our survival hopes at more than 5-10% but it was 0% a couple of weeks...
Too late for us I’m afraid. Neither Grimsby nor Colchester are bad enough to fall apart completely. Just need to enjoy the wins and hope we can build a side for next season.
To be honest 2nd half of the season we haven’t played anyone who has looked much better with the obvious exception of Stockport away. Your game was the other we looked 2nd best on the day and probably Mansfield at home but we subsequently drew with them away. It’s starting the season 10 games...
Bit of a rocky start to 2nd half, Salford got a leveller, but once we went ahead very comfortable until last couple of mins. Defensively pretty strong. Salford very one dimensional - good practice for the National League if we drop as expected. Once Smith goes there you wonder if they’ll be...
1 up at Salford. Long way to go. Smith for them is unplayable with the right service and has the ref in pocket with his cheating. Our Smith needs to learn a bit off that and go down a bit. We’ll do well to keep ahead.
Anyone saying England haven’t got an amazing group of players now is just deliberately playing down chances or going with tired over hyped route. The defenders we have are still easily good enough to do a job even if perhaps the one area not blessed. It’s not easy winning these tournaments and...
Angol is an atrocious footballer, can’t believe he’s had more than 1 club at this level. Thankfully out on loan at Woking now to try and get them back on course for relegation (unsuccessfully as injured after about 2 minutes there).
