The odds are here ...
https://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/non-league/isthmian-premier/winner
If you can't be bothered to open the link the top 5 are:
Urchins 11/2 (ridiculous - we won't be contenders by any means)
Margitt 7/1
K's 9/1
Bognor 10/1
Whitehawk 10/1
Waddayareckon...
Yep - right both times (no HS fans but correct thread). He got booked in both matches against us and failed to hit the target. From what I remember he was very mobile but just not his day (I didn't go to the away game - but Riverside might be along later... he tends to actually watch the...
It's still the cricket season but maybe it's time to wish you all a Happy New Year (as it were). Have to say I too like the Whitstable/Herne Bay zone for grounds - not sure about Margate though!
Meanwhile the Chins appear to be playing in the GRAND OPENING MATCH OF THE SEASON .... TODAY. I...
As Jared says, that's a bad blow for Fleet. They struggle as it is, even without all that extra travelling. Not sure where their players reside but no doubt a large number are based Eastwards.
Anyway, on a more selfish note, we've now signed Lewwis Spence, ex-Thurrock. (Was gonna say signed...
Can't see it myself though of course that would be very nice. I'll take mid-table consolidation which is not something we are very experienced at... here's our last 7 seasons (courtesy of Riverside64 elsewhere on the web):
2011/12 - promoted from ILP via playoffs
2012/13 - relegated from...
RIGHT - I got tired of waiting for Paddy and Riverside to lose the staring contest so I've started a new thread for next season when you will all be bowing down to the Mighty Urchins K's.
'nuff said.
Fred CLOSED.
(not that I have the power to do that but think of it a "soft" closure, like one...
As Paddy is clearly waiting for someone else to perform his God-given role, I'll put you out of your misery and start the thread. We can't be doing with the Southern League boys+girls stealing a march (whatever that means) on us. And we certainly can't wait for Paddy's hospital pass to...
In preparation for Kingstonian being moved to the Southern, the Isthmian League was clearly concerned at the potential lack of a red hoopy kit for next season. So we have helped them out by taking a batch of old K's shirts and putting them in a super-hot wash...
Canvey didn't break any rules and I guess all is fair in love and war, but I tend to agree. Spirit of football and all that. Plus it's Canvey so we always like to see them suffer.
Anyway - good luck to Dulwich today. I actually have a soft spot for both Hendon and DH so kind of disappointed...
Now then Paddy. You may very well "like a shift" but you have RESPONSIBILITIES to this thread (or at least next year's incarnation), so I'm afraid you'll have to stay in the Isthmian. Otherwise - if the Hamlet go up - it'll be just me and Riverside with the odd drop in from the conference...
Thanks for the write-up Townsend. It got linked on our forum and also whatsapp groups to rave reviews.
We knew you'd get the Urchin Bug. Terrible attendance though (not that I can talk as I didn't go). Bit of rain and the Eastside all bu@@er off to Lakeside or somewhere.
Anyway - we are...
Blimey Riverside - good work here, but you do realise it's still the middle of the cricket season and nobody is watching? Any sign of PP or the other K's bloke/ lass? Though as true Surrey-types I'd expect them to be glued to cricinfo, (and yes - Surrey may have stuffed us in the twenty20 but...
Crikey. This is indeed a worry for our self esteem. But let's look at the maths here:
1. The chances of the Chins playing Ks in a PSF? Given the distance, the slight bad blood, and the non-traditionalness of this fixture, I'd give this a probability of 1 in a hundred. Call it 0.01
2...
So. Ming's gone to King's?
Well there's a section of our support (i.e. about 20) who don't have much time for Ks (something to do with the playoffs to Con South* ). And then there is the remainder of our support (the other 120), who have even less time for Ming The Merciless (something to do...
I'm rather disappointed in you here Paddy. As a fully paid-up member of the SW London non league community you should have the lil'ol'Urchins right at the top of any list of failed moneyed ego-fuelled Billy Big Bootz adventures... or is it just Sutton who can't let it go? (Clearly I'm merely...
Oh - right. Wasn't sure about ownership. Hendon have done doubly well in that case.
I know they are not doing fabulously on the pitch, but they've got through their exile and survived... and can look forward to a relatively stable future (I hope). On the other hand we can of course think of...
Certainly not the best location for K's - the thing is to try and hang on in there until you can get somewhere closer, and also try to make any temporary ground feel a bit like home (like Hendon did at Wembley). Talking of whom, it seems to have worked out OK for Hendon (who have a smaller fan...
'ere. Townsendaround. You just want a couple of Horn Twins? We got a whole churchful of 'em.
So then, tonight's quiz question for you all ... which came first, the horns on the church, or the name of the town?
(As you can tell, I'm bored).
