Never try to portray themselves as angels. I don't remember it being the Brackley fans pushing the narrative about the incident at the playoff match 2023 - there really wasn't anything much said this end other than it was a shame, given long time football fans with their kids had been scared...
Such is life... but disappointing when the team is doing so well on the limited budget. Nice to see Curzon flying high - a team that doesn't think its better than the league and isn't being somewhat bankrolled (cough... Brackley).
Difficult to say. Eeking out some results, but struggle to score, and are not convincing. Honestly still don't know if we're a good side, or a bang average one.
Pretty routine from Brackley too - versus a suprsingly toothless Truro City.
We've got a 16 man squad though, so we're 'ravaged with injuries' as soon as anyone gets a knock. Can you do 50+ games part-time with 16 men?
I think 6 of the last 8 winners have been full time sides, so my money would always be on them.
PS does anyone know what's happened to Shepherd Murombedzi. Signed on again as our key midfielder and then seems to have 'disappeared'. Our updates are so flaky that players can move on and there's...
Not a great start - but H to Scunthorpe and A to Chester and Kidderminster... it's a tough opening. Kidderminster and Scunthorpe probably favourites for the league?
There'll probably get people from the surrounding towns too - e.g. Stowmarket with 21,000 pop a few miles away? The South Midlands is not a football hotbed - see Brackley, Banbury, Leamington & Oxford City attendences. I imagine Norfolk is the same - at least compare to the ares like...
I remember a Kidderminster team coming to Brackley several years ago now, and passing us off the field. It sticks in my mind because it was the most I've ever seen us outplayed in 20 years of watching, including when we played teams 3 divisions higher. It didn't get Kiddy promoted though...
Well, I'm with you with the long throws not really being the beautiful game. But once you've got that weapon - which makes every throw nearly as good as a corner - you're going to use it. Bit unlucky to concede a goal from it - we scored very few last year. Overall I thought two pretty even...
Not horrible to watch. Pretty good to watch much of the time really. But not started well this season - 3-0 home defeat - and ground out a scratchy away result today. Danny Newton missed a sitter too.
The ref was fine. I can't be arsed to create beef with another club, but Chester is the only place we go in this league whose fans seem so able to suspend reality & create an intellectual dissonance where the refs have it in for them. Everyone gets good and bad refs, but far too many Chester...
When I started watching it was around 200. Now up to about 600... so good growth. We'll never get much more - we're a small town of 13,000 people - about 1/7th the size of Scunthorpe...
True. But we've recruited well. Shane Byrne back. Matty Lowe back. I'd like one more striker, but nevertheless we are stronger than last year. Pre-season form mixed - but all about a. hitting the ground running and b. ekeing out wins from difficult games, especially away from home. I am...
You'd have to be disappointed in yourself, it you hadn't already realised you were a least one of these descriptors wouldn't you? At least by moving you up from one to the other, I gave you a sense of what it feels like to be promoted - something our respective football clubs are unlikely to...
