22 points ahead in the league, with a part-time squad... and it all counts for nothing... might give up on football - that's our 7th playoff campaign defeat now and lucky me, I've been around for all of them. What's the point
Fair enough and thank you for the 'take back'. Nat North has changed enormously - so many ex-league or other big clubs these days. Maybe we do stick out and seem / are small and amateurish by comparison. But its a decent place run by good people just enjoying the ride... a ride that maybe...
It's Brackley not Barkley. I would shelve the conspiracy theories - the ground can only be partitioned in one way really - and I know the size for York looks reduced, but the bit 'taken away' honestly would only fit in about an extra 50 people - because you can't see at all from behind the...
From your 2021 pre-AGM statement - "The major shareholder and Chairman, Ben Robinson, continued to support and facilitate the club’s cash flow following his interest free loan of £400,000".
Look, I'm not going to judge your club - I remember watching you in non-league against Telford, and...
if you're going to pop onto this forum to post, try not to be a tosser about it. Lots of people would no doubt say you're a mickey mouse club - 22/24th for attendances in your league, and average attendance 1/10th of the biggest club. Erm... pot and kettle.
I have to disagree with the final point. We finished 21 points ahead, but York in form, Brackley not. A real 50/50 game I reckon. Think the crowd might be a touch lower on Saturday.
Nothing much seems to happen on the Nat North Forum on the other site. I joined, but don't bother with it anymore. That said, the traffic on this site certainly seems much less, and with the exception of losing the nob from Halifax, it seems to have all been rather counterproductive. I've...
Did he tell you a figure? Be interested to know. And also how he knows... cause the rest of us don't.
Anyway, since I don't know, you'll note I didn't mention the finances.
Either way, we're not wealthy enough to be full-time, to have a deep squad or to have ever paid a fee for a player in...
Does that mean Brackley (part-time, small squad) also deserve to go up?
Sadly, we're really flat at the moment 5pts from the last 5 matches when the pressure was on - certainly don't think either Chorley or York should be fearful. And I've watched us lose 6 times in the playoffs...
Will the step to 24 clubs next year mean the end to part-time club promotion? Looking at the League there is an obvious advantage of being full time, but with another 4 matches to play midweek, doesn't that just mean the advantage is further multiplied? Seems odd that at the level of the 6th...
5 goals in the last 8 games... not a surprise, but our knack of nicking one seems to have warn thin. Hope we don't meet Boston in the playoffs. And as I've mentioned before - I've seen Brackley lose 6 times now in the playoffs, so not high hopes, but home advantage may help
Feels very quiet on the forum at the moment...
Just to say in the top 6 divisions, only Liverpool have lost fewer games than Brackley this season.
3 defeats in 36 games and 24 wins... and still only a 50/50 chance of automatic promotion.
Can't remember us ever beating Leamington at their place.
Clearly no-one's going to say no to promotion... but it isn't so appealing when you hear this and see the examples of Guiseley, Alfreton, King's Lynn, North Ferriby and for a while Altrincham. It clearly can take a big toll on a club. If Brackley ever do make it, I hope we'd just give it a go...
