Well... I am getting more confident we could end up in the top 2. But I've seen us lose 6 times in the playoffs in the last 16 years, so you'll understand my general skepticism. Equally, we make hard work of nearly all the victories - not sure for example how much we deserved the 3 points...

You must be pleased with how your season is turning out? You were bottom when we won a hard fought 1-0 at Brackley I think, but looked far too good to be so low in the table. Perhaps didn't expect you to get into the playoffs given that start though.

Why streetwise or horrible? Think our disciplinary record is sound. Don't think Wilkin was sent off - he's a very placid manager all told. Think the bench was just angry about the ruled out goal for a push they couldn't see.

Good achievement today - held our own against a full time team with a big budget, and with a very strong wind against us in the first half, that all but died away in the second. You could see Fylde's extra step in quality in the runs they made and their understanding of where to find space...

Ironically I'd say it is less good than last year - indeed the team in general is without Byrne and Coleman. But this year we keep getting results. Two big games coming up next - but am pleased given competing against full timers with arguably much bigger budgets.

To be fair, neither team really made any chances based on the highlights. Down to 13 outfield players again, 5 first teamers out, and we're not good enough to play with 2 or 3 teenage 'make weights'. 7 games in Feb - it's going to be a tough make or break month perhaps.

15 weeks of the season left, only halfway through the campaign, and some bad weather months to come. Squad depth may really matter.

To be fair, they'd only be 5 games left by then - even I might hope we've have a damn good shot by then! But I take your point that all rival teams have to come to us... just worry about the strength of the full timers like Gateshead, Fylde and Kiddy as the months roll on.

Brackley really are very catachable... we're winning a lot of close games, and at any point that could fall away. Two really important games coming up - on paper should win them both and therefore be 10 points ahead of Chorley before we meet, but who knows... Am not worried about our matches vs...
