We really need a decent 2nd striker - so hope you are right about Chambers. Flowers seemed like he needed to grow up - hope the Irish experience has done that for him. How are Kidderminster looking? Is it worth you staying full-time- coming 15th last year suggests your not getting much...
Think the compressed time-frame will count against Brackley - we always operate with about 12-13 trusted players and 3 or 4 makeweights so don't think we'll cope well with the midweek games. Midweek away travel also an issue... Signed 3 players, Ashley Chambers (Mf/St) from Kiddy, Harry Flowers...
PS - maybe we could make better use of the loan system... as several of the Gateshead squad were loaned in league players, perhaps we could learn a lesson here?
Rebuild? I fear it will 10 out of the same starting 11, we'll just lose the 4 or 5 bench-warmers we do every year, and replace them with another half a dozen who are not good enough to start and won't be trusted as subs. That's been the pattern for 3 years. I don't want to grumble too much, 3...
Anyone know what the Brackley - Slough result was? Anyone any idea what the Brackley team was or who we have got signed up? You'd think the club website might be able to tell us one or two details wouldn't you...
If open air theaters are now open, couldn't the grounds open with a reduced...
Still only know of 10 players who've we've resigned.
Could be a very very thin squad for playoff games - if you know you were / were going to be released, being reengaged now for the playoffs only wouldn't exactly be motivating.
Sounds like a lot of costs involved - pay the squad for 5...
Anyone any idea what's happening with the playoffs / dates etc. The main story on the Brackley website is an old person's toilet roll challenge... I'm not learning much from that.
50K? Given our playoff record of failing 5 times out of 5 I genuinely don't think it's worth the bother for Brackley. I'd rather we were around to try again in the future rather than chucking such a large amount at a 1 in 6 chance, and risk the budget / future of the club.
If anyone can give...
Fair enough. There are a lot of entries around the internet listing you as a phoenix club however that need editing. Is this the same for Halifax, as their delightful fan on here always insists (I think - although frankly I don't bother reading what he writes anymore) they are not a phoenix...
From the BBC:
"Darlington 1883 will play in the National League North next season after sealing the Northern Premier League Premier Division championship. It is the third promotion in four seasons for the club, who formed after the demise of Darlington FC in 2012."
Why - if you are the same...
Denied a chance of promotion... as are everyone else in the playoffs... I do understand your frustration, but if only one goes up how can it be York and not King's Lynn? (even though if the season had played out I think you would have won! - King's Lynn were collapsing). You simply can't do it...
